## Content

**Intro:** AS9100 expects you to evaluate external providers on their ability to supply conforming product on time. This calculator turns raw receiving counts into on-time delivery, lot acceptance, PPM and a single weighted rating.

**Sections:**

#### How to use the calculator

**Body:** Pull a rolling period, usually twelve months, from your receiving and purchasing data. Enter lots received, how many were on time, how many were accepted, the units received and the defective units found. Adjust the weight between delivery and quality to match your priorities and enter any open SCARs. The composite rating shows the result as a percent.

**Bullets:**

- Use the same period for all suppliers
- Count lots, not purchase order lines, consistently
- Set an on-time window and keep it fixed
- Review the chart to see sensitivity to weighting

#### The formulas

**Body:** On-time delivery is lots on time divided by lots received. Lot acceptance is lots accepted divided by lots received. PPM is defective units divided by units received times one million. The composite is the weighted average of delivery and acceptance, less five points for each open SCAR up to a cap. If you receive nothing, the result returns zero rather than an error.

#### Reading the result

**Body:** Compare the composite to bands in your procedure, for example preferred, conditional and probation. The example inputs give about 90 percent on time and 95 percent accepted, with a small SCAR penalty. PPM is useful when lots are large, because acceptance by lot can hide a low defect rate within accepted lots.

#### Common mistakes

**Body:** Mixing definitions across suppliers makes comparison meaningless. Counting a late receipt that the buyer agreed to move as late hurts good suppliers, while ignoring early deliveries can hide inventory problems. Combine the rating with qualitative inputs such as responsiveness and audit results before changing a supplier's status.

**Cta:** If your receiving data is in the ERP, Netray can help calculate supplier ratings automatically each month and write them back to the vendor record.

**Faq:**

#### What is a good on-time delivery target?

**Answer:** Many aerospace customers expect 95 percent or better, but the right target depends on your contract and the part. Use your customer flow-downs and internal objectives.

#### How is PPM calculated?

**Answer:** Divide defective units by units received and multiply by one million. For example, 36 defective units out of 24,000 gives 1,500 PPM.

#### Should early deliveries count as on time?

**Answer:** Define it in your procedure. Many companies allow a small early window and treat anything outside it as a miss, since early receipts tie up space and cash.

#### Can I change the weights?

**Answer:** Yes. The slider sets the delivery weight and quality takes the remainder. Pick weights that match your risk, then keep them stable so trends are comparable.
