- Tolerance (+/-)
- Pass or fail

**Rows:**

#### Condition and Statement

**Body:** As-found condition: {{found}}
As-left condition: {{left}}

{{unc}}

**Notes:** Starting point, not legal advice and not an accredited document. A certificate issued under ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation must carry the content required by the standard and your accreditation body, including the accreditation symbol rules. Fill in the uncertainty per test point in the table.

## Content

**Intro:** A calibration certificate is the proof that an instrument was checked against traceable standards, and by what method. This template assembles the key fields into a clean document you can print, sign or export to Word.

**Sections:**

#### How to use it

**Body:** Enter the lab, customer and instrument details, the procedure and reference standards used, and the environmental conditions. Set the as-found and as-left conditions, edit the uncertainty statement to match your budget, and add the names of the technician and approver. Export to PDF or Word, then complete the results table with your readings, errors and pass or fail decisions per test point. Assign a unique certificate number that your calibration log can reference.

#### What a certificate normally contains

**Body:** ISO/IEC 17025 clause 7.8 describes the content of calibration certificates. In practice that means: title, laboratory name and address, unique identification, customer, item description and identification, date of calibration, method used, results with units, measurement uncertainty with coverage factor, traceability statement, conditions where relevant, and the name and signature of the authorizer. Shop-internal certificates do not have to be accredited but benefit from the same structure.

**Bullets:**

- Unique certificate number
- Item ID and serial number
- Method and standards used
- Results with uncertainty
- As-found and as-left condition
- Authorized signature and date

#### Common mistakes

**Body:** The costliest error is omitting as-found data when an instrument is adjusted, which wipes out the evidence you need to judge earlier measurements. Others include missing standards traceability, blank uncertainty, no unit on results, and a due date the lab was not asked to set. Do not claim accreditation unless the lab holds it for that scope. Also keep a copy tied to the gage ID in your calibration log, since a loose certificate is hard to find during an audit.

**Cta:** If you issue many certificates, Netray can help generate them from calibration data held in your ERP or QMS.

**Faq:**

#### Can I use this as an accredited certificate?

**Answer:** Only an accredited laboratory can issue an accredited certificate, and it must meet the content rules of ISO/IEC 17025 and the accreditation body for the scope. This template suits internal and commercial calibration documents that make no accreditation claim.

#### Does the certificate need to show uncertainty?

**Answer:** For calibration under ISO/IEC 17025, yes, the measurement uncertainty and coverage factor must be reported. For internal shop calibrations it is good practice, especially if pass or fail decisions are near the limits.

#### Should a due date appear on the certificate?

**Answer:** Under ISO/IEC 17025 a calibration certificate should not contain a recommendation on the calibration interval unless agreed with the customer. Many commercial labs still print a recommended due date. Use it only where the customer asked for it.

#### What is as-found versus as-left?

**Answer:** As-found is the condition of the instrument when it arrived, before any adjustment. As-left is the condition after adjustment. Keeping both lets you judge whether earlier measurements were affected and feeds interval reviews.
