## Content

**Intro:** A change board is only as good as the list in front of it. This worksheet gives engineering managers a simple aging view of open ECOs, with overdue days calculated for each row and totals that export cleanly to Excel.

**Sections:**

#### How to use the worksheet

**Body:** Add one row per open ECO. Enter the stage, how many days it has been open and the target days for its change class. Overdue days are computed automatically. Sort by the overdue column and take the top items to your weekly board. Export to Excel to share with approvers or to keep a dated snapshot of the backlog.

#### Choosing target days

**Body:** Set target days by change class rather than one number for everything. A documentation correction may have a target of 10 days, a form-fit-function change 30 days and a change requiring customer or supplier approval 45 or more. Targets should be tough but realistic, or the overdue column becomes noise.

**Bullets:**

- Use calendar days, consistently.
- Restart the clock only on a formal resubmission.
- Record the reason when a target is changed.

#### Reading the totals

**Body:** Total overdue days shows the scale of the problem, while the oldest ECO highlights the item most likely to be stuck. Remaining effort shows whether the backlog is a capacity issue or an approval issue. If effort is small but age is large, ECOs are waiting on people, not work.

#### Common mistakes

**Body:** Leaving stale ECOs open inflates age and hides the live backlog. Cancel or close changes that no longer matter. Also avoid tracking only the engineering stage, because waiting at purchasing, quality or the supplier is often the longest segment.

**Cta:** If your ECOs live in an ERP or PLM, Netray can generate this aging view automatically from your change records so the worksheet is not hand-typed.

**Faq:**

#### How often should I review the backlog?

**Answer:** Weekly works for most change boards. Review the top overdue items and any ECO with no movement in two weeks. Emergency changes should be reviewed as they arrive.

#### What stages should I track?

**Answer:** Use the stages your process really has: draft, impact review, approval, implementation, supplier action and release. Fewer, well-defined stages are better than many that are rarely updated.

#### Can I import from my PLM?

**Answer:** Most systems export open changes to CSV or Excel. Paste the columns you need into the worksheet or re-enter the main fields and use the overdue calculation.

#### What if a target is wrong for an ECO?

**Answer:** Change the target and note the reason in the title or your log. A target that is routinely exceeded for a change class should be revised for that class rather than silently ignored.
