This template follows the structure used across the harmonisation directives so you can complete one quickly and adapt it. **Sections:** #### How to use the template **Body:** Enter manufacturer data, the product identification and the list of directives or regulations that apply. Then list the harmonised standards you actually used, and any notified body involved. Export to PDF for signature or to Word for further editing. A single declaration may cover several directives if one product falls under them, for example low voltage, EMC and RoHS together. #### Structure and content **Body:** The model declaration in the EU decision on a common framework for product marketing sets out the standard fields. Specific directives add details. Another is not versioning the declaration when a standard is revised or the design changes. The name and function should be stated so the authority knows who took responsibility. #### Can one declaration cover several directives? **Answer:** Yes. Where a product falls under more than one directive, one declaration can cover all of them, as long as it identifies each and the relevant standards clearly. #### Does the declaration need to be translated? **Answer:** It must be translated into the language or languages required by the member state where the product is placed on the market or made available. Check national requirements. #### How long must I keep it? **Answer:** Typically ten years after the product is placed on the market, unless the specific legislation says otherwise.
