## Short answer

Go or no-go checklist for an LN implementation, upgrade or Baan migration, with critical items flagged.

## Category

## Erp

Infor LN

## Audience

- Project manager
- LN administrator
- Steering group

## Tool

**Kind:** checklist

**Scoring Note:** Every critical item must be complete before go-live. Aim for at least 90 percent of the remaining items, and record an owner and plan for each one still open.

**Groups:**

#### Data

**Items:**

**Text:** Final data load rehearsal completed on production-like volumes

**Critical:** true

**Text:** Stock, open orders and ledger balances reconciled and signed off

**Critical:** true

**Text:** Master data owners approved item, partner and structure data

**Critical:** true

Cross-reference tables for units, statuses and codes approved

Archive plan agreed for legacy data that is not migrated

Data cleansing exceptions logged with owners

#### Testing

**Items:**

**Text:** UAT scripts executed for all critical processes

**Critical:** true

**Text:** No open critical defects, and minor defects accepted in writing

**Critical:** true

Customizations from the inventory retested

Period-end and year-end routines tested

Performance tested with realistic users and batch jobs

Printing, labels and document output verified

#### Security and access

**Items:**

**Text:** Roles and authorizations reviewed against the access matrix

**Critical:** true

Segregation of duties conflicts resolved or compensated

Service accounts for interfaces created with minimum access

Default and test accounts removed or disabled

Emergency access procedure documented

#### Interfaces and infrastructure

**Items:**

**Text:** All interfaces tested end to end, with error handling verified

**Critical:** true

**Text:** Backups taken and a restore test completed

**Critical:** true

Monitoring and alerting configured for servers, batch jobs and interfaces

Batch job schedule defined and tested

Partner and supplier connections notified and tested

Disaster recovery approach agreed

#### People and support

**Items:**

**Text:** End-user training completed and attendance recorded

**Critical:** true

Key users confident to support their areas

**Text:** Hypercare roster and escalation path published

**Critical:** true

Support process and ticket routing in place

Work instructions and quick guides available

Communication to the business and customers sent

#### Decision and rollback

**Items:**

**Text:** Cutover runbook rehearsed and durations validated

**Critical:** true

**Text:** Go or no-go criteria agreed in writing

**Critical:** true

**Text:** Rollback plan documented and rehearsed

**Critical:** true

Steering group sign-off scheduled

Legal, tax and audit requirements confirmed

## Content

**Intro:** A go-live decision should rest on evidence, not on the date in the plan. This checklist covers the areas that most often cause trouble after cutover, with critical items marked so the steering group can see what must be true before proceeding.

**Sections:**

#### How to use the checklist

**Body:** Walk through each group with the person who owns it, not the project manager alone. Tick an item only when there is evidence: a signed reconciliation, a test report, a training record. Items that are not done need an owner and a date, and critical ones need either completion or an explicit risk acceptance by the steering group. Export the result to PDF or Excel and attach it to the go or no-go minutes.

**Bullets:**

- Tick only with evidence
- Assign an owner to every open item
- Treat critical items as gates
- Re-run at the final checkpoint

#### Why these areas

**Body:** Projects that run into trouble typically fail on data accuracy, untested period-end routines, access errors and thin support in the first weeks. Data errors damage trust fastest, because planners and buyers act on wrong stock or orders. Period-end is often tested last, so the first close becomes the real test. Access is a common blind spot, since missing authorizations stop work and excess ones create audit findings. Support readiness decides how quickly small problems are fixed before they grow.

#### Reading the result

**Body:** A clean pass on critical items with a few minor gaps is a go. A single open critical item is a conversation: can it be fixed before cutover, can a workaround cover it, or must the date move? Several open critical items mean a no-go. A delayed go-live costs money, but a rushed one that interrupts shipping or invoicing usually costs more. Document the rationale either way.

#### Common mistakes

**Body:** Teams often confuse activity with readiness, for example counting training sessions scheduled instead of people trained. They also leave the rollback plan unrehearsed and hold the decision meeting too close to cutover, leaving no time to react. Another mistake is having no single accountable decision maker. Name that person early, and agree the criteria before emotions run high.

**Cta:** If you would like an independent view of readiness before a Baan or LN cutover, we can review your evidence and highlight gaps.

**Faq:**

#### Is this only for new LN implementations?

**Answer:** No. It also suits upgrades, re-implementations and migrations from Baan or other systems. Remove items that do not apply and add items specific to your scope.

#### What makes an item critical?

**Answer:** An item is critical if failing it could stop shipping, invoicing, payroll or compliance, or if recovery would be very hard. The marked items are a starting point, and you should adjust them for your business.

#### How early should we run it?

**Answer:** Run a first pass six to eight weeks before cutover to expose long-lead gaps, then again two weeks out and at the final go or no-go meeting.

#### Who should sign off?

**Answer:** The steering group, with explicit approval from the business owners of finance, supply chain and operations, and from IT for infrastructure and security.
