**Notes:** Ideal rate is the fastest rate the line can run steadily on this part, not the average. Performance above 100 percent means the ideal rate is set too low. Add rows for each line and shift, then export to Excel for the weekly pack.

## Content

**Intro:** A manufacturing production report records what each line was supposed to make, what it made, what was good, and why time was lost. This worksheet replaces the usual Excel sheet: enter one row per line and shift and it calculates availability, performance, quality and OEE for you.

**Sections:**

#### How to use this production report format

**Body:** Add one row per line and shift. Enter planned production time and downtime in minutes, the ideal rate in parts per hour, total produced and good units. Scrap and the OEE factors calculate automatically. Use the date column to build a daily report, or export a full week to Excel and filter by line. Replace the sample rows with your own; the totals and first pass yield update as you edit.

#### What is a manufacturing data report

**Body:** A manufacturing data report is a structured record of production facts for a period: quantities, time, losses and quality, usually by line, shift and part. It exists so that decisions about staffing, maintenance and scheduling rest on counted data. The core columns are always the same, even when the plant adds part number, work order, operator or reason codes.

**Bullets:**

- Identity: date, shift, line or machine, part and work order.
- Time: planned production time, downtime, and the reason for each stop.
- Output: total produced, good units, scrap and rework.
- Derived: availability, performance, quality and OEE.

#### The formulas behind the OEE columns

**Body:** Availability is run time divided by planned time. Performance is actual output divided by what the ideal rate would have produced in the run time. Quality is good units divided by total produced. OEE is the product of the three, which reduces to good units times 60 divided by ideal rate times planned minutes. Example: 480 planned minutes, 45 down, ideal rate 60 per hour, 410 made and 398 good gives availability 90.6 percent, performance 94.0, quality 97.1, OEE about 82.9.

#### Where the data comes from and common mistakes

**Body:** Produced and good quantities come from production order completions or machine counters; scrap comes from reject postings. Downtime comes from operator logs or MES. The usual mistakes are counting planned breaks as downtime, using an average rate as the ideal rate, and treating rework as good output. Agree the definitions once, write them on the report, and keep them stable, otherwise trends mislead.

**Cta:** If this data already lives in your ERP or MES, we can generate the daily report automatically from it, and answer questions about it in plain language, on your own servers if required.

**Faq:**

#### What should a daily production report contain?

**Answer:** At minimum: date, shift, line, planned time, downtime with reasons, produced and good quantities, scrap, and the headline KPIs. Add part numbers and work orders if you run several products per line, so the report ties back to your ERP.

#### How do I convert this to a weekly production report?

**Answer:** Add rows for each day, export to Excel, and use a pivot table on the line column. Sum produced, good and downtime, then recalculate OEE from the sums or average the daily values, whichever your plant has agreed to use.

#### Why is my performance percentage over 100?

**Answer:** The ideal rate you entered is lower than the line actually achieved. Set the ideal rate to the best sustained rate for that part, from the routing standard or a proven demonstration run, and keep it fixed so OEE stays comparable.

#### Is OEE the same as efficiency?

**Answer:** No. Labor or machine efficiency usually compares actual to standard hours. OEE includes availability, performance and quality against planned time, so it also exposes downtime and defects that an efficiency number can hide.
