## Content

**Intro:** OEE projects fail more often from drift and unclear ownership than from technical difficulty. This template puts the baseline, the target, the top losses and the actions on one page so everyone works from the same plan.

**Sections:**

#### How to use the template

**Body:** Start with the baseline: measure OEE for several weeks with a fixed definition, and record availability, performance and quality separately. Choose a target that is ambitious but credible for the time frame, then list the biggest losses from your Pareto. Add actions in the table, each tied to a loss, with a named owner and a date. Export to PDF for the wall at the line or to Word for editing. Revisit the status column in every weekly review.

#### Choosing a realistic target

**Body:** Gains come in steps. First-round improvements often come from basic discipline: faster changeovers, clear downtime reasons, preventive care and standard work. Later gains need engineering changes and are slower. A target of a few OEE points per quarter is more credible than a leap to a benchmark figure. Express targets per factor as well, such as availability up five points, so the team knows which loss to attack.

**Bullets:**

- Set the target on the same definition as the baseline
- Break it into availability, performance and quality goals
- Tie each action to the loss it removes

#### Review cadence that sticks

**Body:** Short, frequent reviews near the process beat long monthly meetings. A daily tier meeting looks at yesterday's OEE, the top loss and the status of the open action. The weekly review checks progress against the plan and clears blockers. The monthly summary tells management what changed. Keep the plan visible on the shop floor, and close actions only when the loss measure improves, not when the task is merely done.

#### Common mistakes

**Body:** The usual mistakes are changing the OEE definition mid-project, setting a target without a baseline, and listing actions with no loss attached. Many plans also ignore dependencies, such as maintenance capacity or production schedule room for trials. Capture those in the risks box. Finally, do not let the plan become an annual document: update it when a loss is eliminated and a new one rises to the top.

**Cta:** If your OEE inputs come from an ERP or MES, we can set up a daily view that tracks the baseline and shows progress against this plan automatically.

**Faq:**

#### How long should an OEE improvement plan run?

**Answer:** Twelve weeks is a common cycle: long enough to implement and verify a few changes, short enough to keep focus. After the review, start a new cycle against the next set of top losses.

#### What baseline period should I use?

**Answer:** At least four to eight weeks of data under a single, fixed definition of OEE. A shorter period can be distorted by one big breakdown or a product mix change.

#### Who should own the plan?

**Answer:** One named person, usually the operations or production manager of the area, with support from maintenance, quality and engineering. Shared ownership with no named lead usually leads to slipping dates.

#### Can I export it to Word or PDF?

**Answer:** Yes. Fill in the fields, then export the document as PDF or Word. Everything stays in your browser.
