**Agg:** avg

**Format:** decimal

**Notes:** Weights used: quality 35 percent, delivery 25, price 20, responsiveness 10, compliance 10. These are an example. Download to Excel to change the weights to match your supplier policy. Convert rejected lots and on-time percent into the 0-100 scores using your own scoring bands.

## Content

**Intro:** Packaging suppliers fail in different ways, such as late deliveries, colour drift or damaged pallets, and a plain average hides which one hurts you. This scorecard weights the factors you care about and gives one comparable number per supplier.

**Sections:**

#### How to use the scorecard

**Body:** List each supplier and material. Record rejected lot percent and on-time delivery percent for reference, then enter a 0 to 100 score for each factor based on your scoring bands. The weighted score is computed for every row. Review the lowest scores quarterly with the supplier and agree an action plan.

#### Choosing weights and bands

**Body:** Weights should reflect risk. For printed packaging, quality and delivery usually dominate because a rejected lot stops a packing line. Price matters, but a cheap supplier with late deliveries can cost more in line stoppages. Define scoring bands in advance, for example 100 points at 99 percent on-time and fewer points per percentage lost.

**Bullets:**

- Use the same bands for every supplier in a material category
- Take data from receiving inspection and ERP receipts, not memory
- Share the scorecard with the supplier

#### Common mistakes

**Body:** Scorecards fail when scores are subjective, when only price is measured, or when nobody acts on a low score. Another mistake is comparing suppliers of unrelated materials on one list. Keep each category separate and trend the score over time instead of reading a single quarter.

**Cta:** If supplier delivery and receiving data already exist in your ERP, we can help generate this scorecard from it automatically instead of keying scores.

**Faq:**

#### What weights should a supplier scorecard use?

**Answer:** There is no standard. A common starting point puts quality and delivery at roughly half to two thirds of the total, with price, service and compliance sharing the rest. Adjust to your risk and review it when strategy changes.

#### How often should suppliers be scored?

**Answer:** Quarterly is typical for active suppliers, with monthly tracking of raw delivery and rejection data. Critical suppliers may be reviewed more often, especially after a quality incident.

#### What score should trigger action?

**Answer:** Decide thresholds in advance, for example below 70 triggers a corrective action request and below 60 triggers sourcing review. The exact numbers are a policy choice, but they should be written down.

#### Can this support ISO 9001 supplier evaluation?

**Answer:** It can serve as documented evidence of ongoing supplier evaluation, which ISO 9001 expects for externally provided products and services. Your quality system still defines criteria, frequency and records.
