## Content

**Intro:** This template creates a clean bend inspection record for first-piece, in-process and final checks on press brake parts. Fill in the header, print or export to PDF or Word, and record measured angles and flange lengths.

**Sections:**

#### How to use it

**Body:** Complete the fields at the top with the part, revision, job, material, program and tooling. The record includes tables for bend angle, flange length and overall dimensions. Print it, take measurements at the machine, then enter the result and sign off. For repeat orders, keep the program and tooling fields, since they let the next operator reproduce the setup. Always check the drawing revision to avoid inspecting to an outdated tolerance, which is a common source of escapes.

#### What to measure

**Body:** Check each bend angle with a protractor, angle gauge or a digital angle finder suited to the part, and measure flange length and overall size with calipers or a height gauge. Note hole-to-bend positions and flatness if the drawing specifies them. First-piece inspection should happen before running the batch, and in-process checks at an interval set by risk and quantity. Record any adjustments to the program, such as angle correction for springback, so the final setting is not lost.

**Bullets:**

- Bend angle against drawing tolerance
- Flange length and overall size
- Hole position relative to the bend
- Flatness, twist and surface damage

#### Common mistakes

**Body:** Measuring angles with a worn or unsuited gauge, checking only one end of a long bend, and skipping the revision check are frequent errors. Material grain and batch variation can shift angles, so recheck when coil or sheet lots change. Keep completed records with the job traveler, or scan them into your quality system, so you can trace results to the program, tooling and operator if a customer queries the lot.

**Cta:** We can help bring inspection records into your ERP or quality system so first-piece results, adjustments and lots are traceable from one screen.

**Faq:**

#### Is this an AS9102 form?

**Answer:** No. It is a simple shop record for bend inspection. If a customer requires AS9102 or PPAP documentation, use the forms required by the contract.

#### How often should in-process checks happen?

**Answer:** It depends on risk, quantity and customer requirements. Many shops check at the start, at set intervals, and after any tooling or program change. Follow your quality plan.

#### Can I add more bends?

**Answer:** Export to Word and add rows, or print multiple sheets for complex parts. The table is a starting layout for typical parts with up to four bends.

#### What tolerance should I use for bend angles?

**Answer:** Use the tolerance on the drawing. If none is given, many shops apply a general tolerance such as +/- 1 degree, but this should be set by your standard or agreed with the customer.
