## Content

**Intro:** This worksheet puts several stamping parts on one quote page and calculates unit cost, unit price and annual revenue from material, press time and secondary cost. Edit the rows, add parts and export to Excel.

**Sections:**

#### How to use it

**Body:** For each part, enter the process, annual volume, gross pounds per part from your strip layout, coil price, good parts per hour and press rate. Add any secondary cost per piece such as plating, tumbling or packaging, and the margin you want. The worksheet calculates material and press cost per piece, unit cost, unit price at target margin and annual revenue and gross profit. The summary shows blended margin and average price per piece, which is useful when a customer asks you to bundle a family of parts.

#### How the columns are calculated

**Body:** Material cost per piece equals gross pounds times price per pound. Press cost equals press rate divided by good parts per hour. Unit cost adds the secondary cost. Unit price equals unit cost divided by one minus the margin fraction, so the margin is a share of price. Annual revenue equals volume times unit price. Because the model has no tooling, setup or freight term, add those as secondary cost per piece or quote them separately.

**Bullets:**

- Use gross weight, not net, for material.
- Good parts per hour should already include press efficiency.
- Volumes are annual; match them to the committed volume in the RFQ.

#### Common mistakes

**Body:** Estimators often apply the same press rate to every process even though a deep draw or transfer press carries a higher burden. Another mistake is to quote price breaks without re-computing material, which hides that a bigger coil lot can lower the price per pound. Keep a copy of the filled worksheet with the RFQ number as the audit trail for later price review requests.

**Cta:** If your quotes are built in spreadsheets and re-keyed into the ERP, we can help connect estimating to item, routing and standard cost data.

**Faq:**

#### How is the unit price calculated?

**Answer:** Unit price equals unit cost divided by one minus margin. With a unit cost of 0.40 and a margin of 20 percent, the price is 0.50. Multiplying cost by 1.20 would give only 0.48 and a lower real margin.

#### Can I add tooling cost?

**Answer:** Compute die amortization per piece with the Piece Price at Volume calculator and enter it in the secondary cost column, or quote tooling as a separate line item. Keep one method per quote to avoid double counting.

#### How many parts can I enter?

**Answer:** Add as many rows as you need. The totals and blended margin update as rows are edited, and the whole table exports to Excel or CSV.

#### Should material use gross or net weight?

**Answer:** Gross. The coil you buy includes the scrap the die creates. If you receive scrap credit, subtract it in the secondary cost column as a negative value or use the strip layout calculator to get the net cost.
