How the planner works
Each ERP has a release list with the year of general availability and support status where the vendor or a reliable source states it. Upgrade routes come from vendor upgrade guides: which releases upgrade directly, which need an intermediate release, and which tools and validations run on the way.
Your landscape (customizations, integrations, interfaces, reports, data, users, sites and deployment) is combined with the areas each release and step changes. That gives the risk drivers, the effort lines and the priority of every regression test. Nothing you enter leaves your browser unless you save it to your account or ask for a review.
Questions
What does the Upgrade Path Planner produce?
For the release you run and the one you are moving to, it shows the upgrade steps the vendor documents (with any required intermediate release), the technical and functional changes in every release you cross, a risk score with its drivers, a person-day effort range with the formula behind each line, and a regression test plan by module and integration.
Where do the version and date facts come from?
From vendor documentation, release notes and announcements, with a numbered source list on every ERP page. Where a date or a step cannot be verified from public sources, the planner leaves it out or marks it Verify with vendor.
How is the effort range calculated?
Each line is a count from your landscape multiplied by a low and high person-day coefficient: steps on the path, releases crossed, customizations, integrations, interfaces, reports, data size and sites, plus a testing share, training and project management. The Effort tab shows every formula. It is a planning model, not a quote.
Does the test plan help with test automation?
Yes. Each test carries a priority (critical processes your path changes come first) and an Automate flag for tests that repeat on every update. Export the plan to Excel to load into a test management or automation tool.
Do I need an account?
No. Everything, including exports, works without signing in. A free Netray account only lets you save the plan and reopen it later on any device.
