How Oracle Fusion Cloud Maintenance connects to Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP and SCM
Native Fusion SCM module
Maintenance shares the Fusion item master, inventory organizations, work centers and cost accounting. Maintenance work orders issue materials from Inventory and charge costs to the asset.
Asset data from Product Hub and Fusion Assets
Installed base and asset structures are set up from Fusion product and asset data, so the maintenance asset hierarchy can reference the same items you manufacture or buy.
What data moves
| From | To | Data | When |
|---|---|---|---|
| Maintenance work order | Fusion Inventory | Spare part issues and returns against the work order | Work order operation released or completed |
| Maintenance program / meters | Maintenance work orders | Preventive maintenance work orders generated from forecast or meter readings | Scheduled forecast run or meter threshold |
| Maintenance work order | Fusion Cost Management | Labor, material and resource costs charged to the work order | Work order transactions and completion |
| Warranty records | Maintenance work orders | Warranty coverage on assets and repairs | Work order creation for a covered asset |
Setting it up
- 1Enable maintenance and set up the organizationConfigure maintenance-enabled inventory organizations, work centers and maintenance resources through the Fusion offering and setup tasks.
- 2Define asset structuresCreate the asset hierarchy for lines, machines and sub-assemblies, and link each asset to an item where the equipment is a catalogued product.
- 3Set up work definitions and PM programsBuild standard work definitions with operations, resources and materials, then preventive maintenance programs driven by calendar or meter.
- 4Load spare partsMark spares in the item master, set subinventories and min-max planning so work orders can reserve parts.
- 5Configure costing and warrantySet work order cost rules and warranty terms so repairs on covered assets are flagged.
- 6Pilot on one lineRun corrective and preventive work orders on a single production line before rolling out to all plants.
What usually breaks
- !Asset hierarchies copied from a legacy CMMS carry duplicate or retired assets that clutter PM generation.
- !Spare parts not set up with the right inventory organization cannot be reserved on the work order.
- !PM forecasts generate large bursts of work orders if calendars and horizons are not tuned.
- !Operators who skip labor and time reporting leave costs incomplete and make maintenance cost per asset unreliable.
- !Meter readings entered late or out of sequence trigger PMs at the wrong time.
- !Quarterly Fusion updates can change maintenance screens and setup, so review release notes before each update.
A private AI layer across both systems
Plain-language maintenance questions
Ask which assets had the most unplanned work orders last quarter and what parts they consumed, answered from Fusion maintenance and inventory data with the query shown.
Backlog and PM exception triage
A private assistant lists overdue PM work orders, assets with repeated corrective work, and work orders waiting on parts, for a planner to decide.
Failure text summaries
Summarize technician comments across work orders into recurring failure patterns, drafted for the reliability engineer to review.

Oracle Fusion SCM Implementation Readiness Assessment
Ten questions that show whether data, process, integration and people are ready for a Fusion SCM implementation.
When something else fits better
- A dedicated EAM such as IBM Maximo or Infor EAM suits asset-heavy plants with deep reliability programs beyond what an ERP module covers.
- Prometheus-style planning and scheduling can be layered on ERP maintenance data when scheduling is the gap.
- If you only track a few machines, a CMMS or even scheduled tasks in the ERP may be enough.
Frequently asked questions
Is Fusion Cloud Maintenance a separate product to integrate?
No. Oracle documents it as a module of Fusion Supply Chain and Manufacturing, so it shares items, inventory and cost data with the rest of Fusion. You configure it rather than integrate it, though you may still connect IoT meters or legacy asset data.
Does it support preventive maintenance and warranty?
Yes. The module covers work orders, preventive maintenance programs and warranty tracking, tied to Inventory, Product Hub and asset lifecycle data. Depth of scheduling and reliability analytics is lighter than specialist EAM tools.
Can it run on-prem?
Fusion Cloud is SaaS only. Plants staying on-prem would use JD Edwards or EBS maintenance modules or a separate EAM. Netray's private AI can still read replicated maintenance data inside your network where policy requires it.
Pairing documented at docs.oracle.com/en/cloud/saas/supply-chain-and-manufacturing/26a/faumm/overview- . Oracle Fusion Cloud Maintenance is a product of Oracle; Netray is independent and not affiliated with either vendor.
