Practice in a test or training site, never in production. Form names follow the SyteLine online help; newer releases add hub forms and new UI forms, so if a name differs in your version, search for it in the Explorer.

Questions

Where do I find official SyteLine training?

Infor delivers SyteLine training through Infor Campus. The SyteLine catalog has instructor-led courses such as SyteLine: Administering the System, SyteLine: Extending the Application with Mongoose and SyteLine: Creating Form Personalizations, plus self-directed courses such as Navigating the User Interface, Using Job Orders and Using Shipping. Course details and schedules require a Campus login.

Is there a SyteLine user guide?

Yes. The SyteLine online help on docs.infor.com has a topic for each form, overviews and step-by-step procedures, organized by release. The Mongoose framework help covers forms, IDOs, the Application Event System and the REST APIs for developers.

Is SyteLine the same as CloudSuite Industrial?

Yes. Infor uses both names for the same ERP. Infor documentation and courses use SyteLine, CloudSuite Industrial and CSI, for both cloud and on-premises deployments.

How long does it take to learn SyteLine?

It depends on the role and modules. Use the builder: an end user with two modules is a few weeks at a few hours a week, a functional consultant covering eight modules with advanced lessons is several times that. The plan shows total hours and a finish date for your choices.

What should a SyteLine beginner learn first?

Start with navigation: the Explorer, workspaces, filter-in-place, report options and the Items, Customers and Vendors master records. Then learn the transactions of your area, for example Customer Orders, Order Shipping and Order Invoicing/Credit Memo for customer service.

What does a SyteLine developer need to learn?

The Mongoose framework: how forms bind to IDO collections, form personalization in Design Mode, user-defined fields and scripts, IDO extension classes in C#, the Application Event System, and the IDO REST API, directly or through the ION API gateway.

Can I practice in my production SyteLine?

No. Use a test, pilot or training site. Many lessons post transactions, change parameters or create security records that you do not want in production.

Is SyteLine certification available?

Infor Campus has an exam guide area for SyteLine courses. Check the current exams and requirements in Infor Campus, as they change with releases.
