Infor SyteLine and the CloudSuite Industrial Quality (QC Enterprise) Module

The Quality module is a native part of SyteLine, not a separate product, so there is no integration to build. It covers control plans, QC tests and gauges, inspection, disposition and certificates of conformance on the same item, lot and job data the rest of the ERP uses. If your needs are standard inspection and CoCs, it is usually enough before you buy a separate QMS.

How Infor CloudSuite Industrial Quality (QC Enterprise Module) connects to Infor CloudSuite Industrial (SyteLine)

Native SyteLine module

Quality data lives in the SyteLine database next to items, lots, jobs and receipts, and is configured through the standard SyteLine forms. There is no connector, mapping layer or middleware to maintain, and security follows SyteLine user and group authorizations.

IDOs and SQL for reporting and extensions

Like other SyteLine data, quality records can be read through IDOs (Mongoose) or, on-prem, directly with read-only SQL views for reporting. Custom fields and event handlers can extend inspection forms, but treat that as customisation that must be retested on upgrade.

Setting it up

  1. 1Decide the scopeList which items need incoming, in-process and final inspection and which customers require certificates. Do not turn it on for everything on day one.
  2. 2Define tests and gaugesSet up QC tests with units, specification limits and the gauges used, including calibration ownership so results are traceable to a gauge.
  3. 3Build control plansAttach tests to items and operations through control plans, with sampling rules that match your customer and standard requirements.
  4. 4Configure dispositionDecide which dispositions exist (accept, reject, rework, scrap, return to vendor) and which inventory locations or statuses each one moves stock to.
  5. 5Set the CoC formatDesign the certificate output with the fields each key customer expects, using SyteLine reporting tools, and test against real lots.
  6. 6Pilot on one product lineRun a single family through receiving, production and shipping for a few weeks, then correct plans before rolling out.
  7. 7Train inspectors and set permissionsLimit who can change specs and dispositions, and agree on who signs off holds and releases.

What usually breaks

  • !Control plans left generic so inspectors record nothing meaningful, which defeats traceability during a customer complaint.
  • !Specification limits entered in a different unit of measure than the item's stocking UoM, producing false failures.
  • !Disposition that does not actually move or block inventory, so rejected lots can still be issued to jobs.
  • !Gauges without maintained calibration records, which weakens audit evidence for AS9100 or ISO 9001 customers.
  • !Customer-specific CoC fields bolted on as custom code and broken after an upgrade because nobody retested the form.
  • !Corrective action and audit workflows expected from the module when they are really a QMS feature, found out late in the project.

A private AI layer across both systems

Plain-language quality questions

Ask which lots of a part failed a given test this quarter, from which vendors, and which jobs consumed them. A private assistant reads the quality tables and traceability data and shows the query it ran.

Failure pattern triage

Group repeated rejects by vendor, operation, gauge or shift and surface likely patterns for a quality engineer to review, rather than scrolling through inspection histories.

CoC draft checks

Compare a draft certificate against the lot's recorded results and the customer's requirements, flagging missing or out-of-range values before a person signs.

Drafted corrective actions

Propose a corrective-action write-up from the linked non-conformance data, held for human approval before anything is entered.

When something else fits better

  • If you need full CAPA, document control, audit management and supplier scorecards, a dedicated QMS usually fits better than the native module.
  • For very light needs, a controlled receiving checklist and inventory status codes in SyteLine may be enough.
  • SPC and shop-floor data collection from machines is a different product category and is not what this module is for.

Frequently asked questions

Is the SyteLine Quality module a separate purchase from the ERP?

It is a native module of CloudSuite Industrial, but licensing and what is enabled depend on your contract with Infor or your partner. Confirm entitlement before planning a rollout, because the functionality sits inside the same database and forms as the rest of SyteLine.

Does it replace a QMS for AS9100 or ISO 9001?

It supports the inspection and traceability records those standards rely on, but certification also needs document control, internal audits, management review and corrective action processes. Many companies run those in a separate QMS or in controlled documents alongside SyteLine.

Can AI read the quality data without exposing it?

Yes. A private assistant can run on your own servers with read-only database access and respect SyteLine roles, so inspection data and customer specs do not leave your network. Any write-back, such as a disposition, should need human approval.
