Cross-Site Inventory Visibility Configuration

SyteLine stores inventory at the site level in the item_whse table, with each site maintaining its own on-hand quantities, cost layers, and planning parameters. To enable cross-site visibility, you configure the Inter-Site Parameters form (SLInterSiteParms IDO) which controls which sites can view and request inventory from each other. The Items form allows you to flag items as inter-site enabled, and the Inventory Inquiry form can be extended through custom IDOs to aggregate on-hand across all sites in a single view.

• Configure Inter-Site Parameters to define supply-demand relationships between each site pair
• Enable the inter_site_supply flag on item_whse records for items available to other sites
• Use the SLItemWhse IDO to query item-level on-hand, allocated, and available quantities per site

Inter-Site Transfer Order Management

Transfer orders in SyteLine move inventory between sites using a ship-from and ship-to model. The Transfer Orders form (SLTransfers IDO) creates a demand at the receiving site and a supply at the shipping site, both visible to MRP planning. Transit warehouses track in-transit inventory so it is not double-counted.

Proper configuration of transfer lead times, shipping methods, and transit warehouses ensures accurate planning and prevents inventory discrepancies during inter-site movements.

• Create transfer order workflows with approval routing for high-value inter-site movements
• Configure transit warehouses on each site to track in-transit quantities separately from on-hand
• Set inter-site transfer lead times on the item_whse record to include packing, shipping, and receiving time
• Use transfer order templates for recurring replenishment patterns between distribution and manufacturing sites
• Enable ASN (Advance Ship Notice) generation on inter-site transfers for receiving dock scheduling

Multi-Site Inventory Reporting and KPIs

Consolidated inventory reporting across SyteLine sites requires either cross-database views in SQL Server or integration through Infor ION and Birst analytics. Key metrics include total enterprise on-hand value, inventory turns by site, inter-site transfer frequency, and days-of-supply by location. The standard SyteLine inventory reports operate at the single-site level, so multi-site reporting typically requires custom report development using SSRS or the Mongoose report writer with cross-site data sources.
