China ERP Go-Live Cutover Plan Template
Cutover is a few days of hard sequencing: stop, extract, load, reconcile, decide. This template makes the steps, owners and rollback rule explicit before the weekend begins.

Approvals
Adjust to your plant calendar. Public holiday dates change each year, so confirm the official schedule before fixing a date.
Cutover reconciliation help
Optional: discuss reconciliation queries for your cutover.
Optional. The tool and every export work without this. No spam.
How to use it
Fill the dates and calendar constraints, export, then add real step times and owners in a meeting with finance, the plant and IT. Print it for the cutover room. Tick off steps as they finish and note actual times; they become the baseline for the next plant rollout.
China calendar considerations
Plan around Spring Festival, when plants and suppliers close for extended periods, and around the National Day week. Avoid the tax declaration window at month-end where possible. Many factories also work make-up weekends, which can collide with the cutover. Confirm shipping and customs availability for the chosen dates.
- Check supplier and carrier holiday closures
- Check month-end and VAT filing dates
- Plan translation support for night shifts
- Make sure bank interface testing is done
Common mistakes
Teams skip the rollback rule and argue about it at 3 a.m. Agree tolerance in advance, such as inventory value variance and open order counts. Another mistake is loading opening balances before master data is frozen. Also remember paper: printed delivery notes and labels must work on the first morning.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long is a typical freeze?
From several hours to a few days depending on volume and complexity. Plants with continuous production often cut over across a weekend.
Who decides on rollback?
Name one person, usually the project sponsor on the advice of finance and the plant manager, and record the time of the decision point.
Should I cut over at month-end?
Month-end simplifies opening balances but collides with closing work and tax filing. Many teams choose the first day of a period after a clean close.
Does this work for any ERP?
Yes. The steps are generic and apply to Kingdee, Yonyou, SAP, Oracle and others.
Netray can discuss automating reconciliation queries between legacy and new ERP for your cutover weekend.
