Check: HTML client | Open the user menu at the top right of the web client and choose About. It shows the Tools release and the Applications release of the session. | Fastest check for an end user
Check: Server Manager | The Server Manager console lists every managed instance (enterprise, HTML, AIS, deployment) with its tools release. Mixed releases across servers show here. | Check after every tools upgrade
Check: F00942 | EMRLS in Object Path Master shows the Applications release (e.g. E920) per path code, not the tools release. | Do not confuse the two
Term: SP | 'SP' (service pack) is the older name for a tools release used on earlier EnterpriseOne and OneWorld releases. On 9.2 the equivalent of 'SP 9.2.8.2' is Tools release 9.2.8.2.
Term: Release 9.2 continuous delivery | Applications stay at 9.2. New application and tools features arrive through yearly releases (22, 23, 24, 25, 26) and their quarterly updates, applied as ESUs and tools releases instead of a full upgrade. |
Release names, update months, features and certifications for Release 22 to 26 are taken from Oracle's LearnJDE release pages. Exact general availability dates for 9.2.1 to 9.2.5 are not given here: check Oracle's Update Center or release notes. Before an upgrade, confirm the minimum Server Manager level and platform certifications on the Certifications tab in My Oracle Support.

How the numbering works
EnterpriseOne 9.2 is on continuous delivery: Applications stay at 9.2 while Oracle ships a yearly release with quarterly updates. Release 22 innovation came in Tools 9.2.6, Release 23 in 9.2.7, Release 24 in 9.2.8 and Release 25 in 9.2.9. From Release 26 Oracle aligned the names, so the tools release is 9.2.26 and the applications update is Update 26. A four-part number such as 9.2.8.2 is a point release on the 9.2.8 line. Older EnterpriseOne and OneWorld releases called tools levels service packs, which is why people still ask for the 'SP number'.
How to check your tools release
In the HTML client, open the user menu at the top right and choose About: it shows the Tools release and Applications release for your session. For servers, open the Server Manager console, which lists each managed instance with its tools release; this is where you spot an AIS or HTML server left behind after an upgrade. Do not use F00942 EMRLS for this: it shows the applications release of the path code (E920), not the tools level.
- Web client: user menu, About
- Server Manager: managed instances list
Worked example: planning a tools-only upgrade
A site on Tools 9.2.5 wants Logic Extensions and the read-only Orchestrator database connection. Logic Extensions arrived with Release 22 (9.2.6) and the database connection with Release 23 (9.2.7), so the target is at least 9.2.7, and in practice the current line. Because tools became 64-bit only with 9.2.6, the upgrade also means moving to 64-bit Tools Foundation and 64-bit compilers and database clients, which is usually the larger piece of work. Check the Certifications tab for every server component before booking the window.
Gotchas
Tools and applications move separately: you can run current tools on older applications code, but some features need both a tools release and an application ESU. Upgrade Server Manager first, then enterprise, web and AIS servers, then deployment and development clients. Since Release 24 the Tools Rollup ESU uses Automated Tools Release Configuration (P96ATRC) instead of manual special instructions. Keep all servers on the same tools level; mixed levels are a common cause of odd runtime errors.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the latest JDE tools release?
At the time of writing, Oracle's current line is Release 26 with Tools 9.2.26, announced in October 2025 with January and April 2026 updates. From Release 26 the tools number matches the release number. Check Oracle's LearnJDE What's New page or the Update Center for the newest point release before planning.
How do I check the JDE tools release?
In the web client, open the user menu at the top right and choose About to see the tools and applications release. For servers, the Server Manager console shows the tools release of each managed instance. The applications release per path code is in F00942 column EMRLS, which is not the tools level.
What does JDE 9.2.8.2 mean?
It is Tools release 9.2, update 8, point release 2. The 9.2.8 line delivered the Release 24 tools features; the last digit is a maintenance point release on that line. 'SP' or service pack is the older term for tools levels and is not used for 9.2 tools releases.
Which tools release is JDE Release 26?
Release 26 is delivered in Tools 9.2.26. Oracle changed the naming with this release so that the Applications Update and the tools release both carry 26. Earlier, Release 22 to 25 mapped to Tools 9.2.6, 9.2.7, 9.2.8 and 9.2.9.
