NetSuite Training and Certification Study Planner

Pick a NetSuite certification, your experience, weekly hours and exam date. The planner turns the official exam objectives into a week by week plan of Help Center reading and hands-on tasks in a NetSuite account, re-weights it toward the objectives you rate weakest, and tracks progress, readiness and exam-day deadlines.

Independent: Netray is a consultancy, not a training provider or a NetSuite partner. No exam questions are reproduced here.

Before you book

  • Prerequisites: None
  • Recommended experience: Three to six months administering NetSuite, or equivalent knowledge.
  • NetSuite SuiteFoundation Exam Study Guide (March 2024)Objectives in this planner are quoted from this guide (March 2024). Compare with the current exam guide on MyLearn.

Gotchas for this exam

  • SuiteFoundation is a prerequisite for the Administrator Professional and ERP Consultant Professional tracks. Plan both exams if one of those is your goal.
  • The study guide marks topics as NOT ON EXAM (for example saved search joins and summary types, standard costing, demand planning). The planner shows these so you do not over-study.
  • Many objectives are about where a setting lives (Enable Features vs General Preferences vs Set Preferences vs Accounting Preferences). Practice in an account, not only from reading.
  • Question count, time and passing score above are reported by a secondary source. Oracle states the binding figures in the exam guide on MyLearn.

Step 2: Rate yourself on each official objective

1 never done it, 3 done it with help, 5 do it routinely. Weak objectives get more time and move earlier.

Loading your plan...

Step 3: Your week by week plan

Tick tasks as you finish them. Links open vendor documentation or the vendor learning site.

Step 4: Exam-day logistics

  • Request special accommodations

Log a ticket with My Oracle Learning Support at least 15 business days before the exam, and do not register until Oracle approves it.

  • Re-read the current exam guide on MyLearn

Time limit, question count and passing score are stated in each exam guide and can change when the exam is rewritten. Compare it with the facts in this planner.

  • Take the official practice exam

Included in each certification learning path (Explorer Pass or LCS Company Pass). Note the objectives you miss and move their confidence down in step 2.

  • Check the online-proctoring system requirements

Use the Exam Preparation page linked from MyLearn. Supported browsers are Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge only.

  • Last moment to reschedule without losing the attempt

Reschedule or cancel in MyLearn at least 24 hours before the appointment. If readiness is low, decide now.

  • Clear the browser cache

The FAQ asks candidates to clear the browser cache before the exam.

  • Clear the desk

Pen and paper are not allowed. A digital calculator and whiteboard are available in the exam control panel. No access to NetSuite, SuiteAnswers or the Help Center during the exam.

  • Answer every question

No negative marking. Flag and return to hard items rather than leaving blanks.

  • Check CertView for results

Oracle emails you when results are available. Allow mail from @oracle.com, then open CertView > Exam Results.

Oracle NetSuite Certification Program at a glance

NetSuite certifications now run on Oracle MyLearn in three levels: Associate, Specialist and Professional. Associate exams are free for NetSuite Pass holders and do not expire. Specialist and Professional certifications issued on or after October 1, 2025 are valid for 18 months, and renewals for 12 months. The older Kryterion-delivered exams with the annual New Release Quiz are gone, so study guides and blog posts that describe them are out of date on logistics, even where the objectives still apply.

How to use the NetSuite study planner

  1. 1

Pick the certification and your starting point

Choose the exam, how much NetSuite you have used, weekly study hours and the exam date. The planner shows the official exam facts with a status badge on each one.

  2. 2

    Rate yourself on every objective

Score each official objective from 1 (never done it) to 5 (do it weekly). Low scores get more time and move earlier in the plan; 5s become a quick skim.

  3. 3

Adjust topic weights if your exam guide has them

NetSuite's study guides do not publish percentages, so defaults follow the number of objectives per subject. Type official percentages in if your MyLearn exam guide lists them.

  4. 4

Work the plan and tick tasks off

Each week lists Help Center reading and hands-on tasks. Readiness combines your ratings and completed tasks. Re-rate after the official practice exam.

  5. 5

    Use the exam-day checklist

Deadlines for accommodations and rescheduling are dated from your exam date. Save to your account to keep progress, or export to PDF or Excel.

Questions

Which NetSuite certification should I take first?

SuiteFoundation Specialist for most admins and consultants, because the Administrator Professional and ERP Consultant Professional tracks build on it. If you mainly work on finance or reporting, the Associate exams (Financial Associate, BI and Reporting Associate) are a lower-risk start and are free for NetSuite Pass holders.

Is NetSuite certification free?

Associate-level exams are free for NetSuite Pass holders, per the NetSuite Certification FAQ (October 2026). Specialist and Professional exams are paid. Study guides and practice exams are available through the free Explorer Pass content on MyLearn.

How much does a NetSuite certification exam cost?

The NetSuite Australia buy page showed Specialist exam credits at 125 and Professional at 245 with a dollar sign but no currency code when we checked on 2026-10-22. There are no free retakes, so budget per attempt. Enter your own quote in the planner's cost box.

How long is a NetSuite certification valid?

Associate certifications do not expire. Specialist and Professional certifications issued on or after October 1, 2025 are valid for 18 months, earlier ones for 12 months, and renewals for 12 months. The expiry date is printed on the eCertificate in CertView.

How many questions are on the SuiteFoundation exam and what is the passing score?

Oracle states question count, time and passing score in each exam guide on MyLearn. A secondary source reported 65 questions in 90 minutes with a 55% pass mark in 2026; the older study-guide era exam had 66 questions in 80 minutes. Check the current exam guide before you book.

Can I use NetSuite or SuiteAnswers during the exam?

No. The screen is locked, pen and paper are not allowed, and only the digital calculator and whiteboard in the exam control panel are available. There is no negative marking, so answer every question.

What happens if I fail or miss the exam?

A no-show counts as an attempt, and every attempt needs a purchased credit. Reschedule at least 24 hours ahead to keep the attempt. After a fail, the CertView score report lists the objectives to work on; use them to lower your confidence scores here and rebuild the plan.

How many hours does it take to prepare?

The planner estimates it from the work, not a rule of thumb: about 20 minutes per Help Center topic, 45 per hands-on task and 60 per recommended course, scaled by your experience (1.35x new, 1.0x some, 0.7x experienced) and by your confidence on each objective (1.6x at 1 down to 0.35x at 5). The formula is shown under the plan.

Is there a NetSuite developer certification?

The Resource Center lists Application Developer and Web Services Developer, and a SuiteCloud Developer recognition for holding both plus SuiteFoundation. The October 2026 FAQ table does not list the developer exams, so confirm availability on MyLearn. The planner covers Application Developer from its March 2024 study guide.
