Oracle EBS Certification and Training Study Planner
Pick one of the eight Oracle E-Business Suite R12 Implementation Specialist exams still marked active on Oracle MyLearn, set your experience, weekly hours and exam date. The planner turns Oracle's published exam topics into a week by week plan of EBS 12.2 documentation reading and hands-on setups in a Vision demo instance, re-weights it toward the objectives you rate weakest, and tracks progress, readiness and exam-day deadlines.

Before you book
- Prerequisites: None
- Recommended experience: Oracle says up-to-date training and field experience are recommended. The exam assumes you can set up ledgers, journals, FSG reports and period close, not just enter journals.
- MyLearn exam page: Oracle E-Business Suite R12.1 General Ledger Essentials (1Z0-516)Objectives in this planner are quoted from this guide (Read 2026-10-22). Compare with the current exam guide on MyLearn.
Gotchas for this exam
- The first six topics (E-Business Essentials) are the same objectives on the GL, AP, AR, Inventory, Purchasing and Order Management exams. If you already passed one of them, rate those objectives 4 or 5.
- The exam title says R12.1 while Oracle's recommended courses are R12.2.9. Study on 12.2 but expect R12.1 terms (for example Global Consolidation System and Enterprise Planning and Budgeting).
- No official practice test is linked from the exam page. The planner's practice-exam task becomes a timed self-test: 64 items in 120 minutes from your own notes.
- Exam languages listed: English, Chinese (Simplified), Korean, Portuguese (Brazilian), Spanish (neutral).
Step 2: Rate yourself on each official objective
1 never done it, 3 done it with help, 5 do it routinely. Weak objectives get more time and move earlier.

Tick tasks as you finish them. Links open vendor documentation or the vendor learning site.
Step 4: Exam-day logistics
Confirm the exam is still active and re-read its topic list
These are older exams and Oracle retires exams with notice. Open the MyLearn exam page, check it can still be scheduled, and compare its topic list with this planner.
Check your computer against Oracle's requirements
Latest Chrome or Edge on Windows 10, Windows 11 or macOS 13 or later, administrator rights, developer mode off, at least 8 GB RAM, one display only, webcam of at least 640x490 at 10 fps, working microphone. Chromebooks, Linux, tablets and phones are not supported.
Fix the network
Stable connection of at least 3 Mbps up and down with ping under 100 ms. No mobile hotspot or phone tethering. Disconnect VPN and proxy.
Check your ID
Government-issued, valid (not expired), undamaged primary ID. IDs from US-sanctioned countries are not accepted.
Last moment to reschedule without risking the attempt
Reschedule or cancel at least 24 hours before the appointment. If readiness is low, decide now.
Check in 30 minutes early
Use the Check In button in the confirmation or reminder email. Late check-in may mean you are not admitted. Watch the exam-type video and run the readiness check.
Clear the room and desk
Live proctored by video and audio. No other people or voices, no phone, no pen and paper (a digital whiteboard is provided), only the MyLearn exam tab open. A third party in the room ends the exam with no score or refund.
Download the score report from CertView

Program rules that catch people out
- Where to register
- Oracle MyLearn. Exams in English are managed directly by Oracle, not booked through Pearson VUE.
- Exam attempts
- Each sitting deducts one exam attempt bought in MyLearn. Registration, cancellation and rescheduling must happen inside the attempt's subscription dates.
- Retakes
- A failed exam can be retaken with a new attempt. A passed exam cannot be retaken. Creating a new account to bypass the retake rule voids the result.
- Retake waiting period
- The guidelines page says retakes have an earliest appointment date after the failed attempt, but the number of days is missing from the page as published on 2026-10-22. Check MyLearn when you rebook.
- Reschedule or cancel
- At least 24 hours before the appointment. Cancelling later risks forfeiting the attempt.
- Score report
- Overall score, pass or fail, and performance per exam domain in CertView. Oracle does not disclose which questions you missed.
- Recertification
- Oracle's recertification policy names only certain Oracle Database credentials. No recertification rule is published for these EBS credentials.
- Currency
- Prices are shown in the currency Oracle University offers in your country; Oracle does not refund for exchange-rate moves.
Original sample questions (written by Netray, not from any exam)
They show the style the study guide describes. Use the official practice exam for real preparation.
Original example: pick the setup that controls access
Users in one responsibility must view all balancing segment values of a ledger but post journals only for company 01. What do you configure?
- A. A cross-validation rule on the company segment
- B. A data access set with read and write for 01 and read-only for the rest
- C. A security profile with one operating unit
- D. A summary template on the company segment

How to use the Oracle EBS study planner
- 1
Pick the exam and your starting point
Choose one of the eight active EBS exams, how much EBS you have used, weekly study hours and the exam date. Each exam fact shows a status badge and links to the MyLearn exam page it came from.
- 2
Rate yourself on every objective
Score each official objective from 1 (never done it) to 5 (do it weekly). Low scores get more time and move earlier. If you already passed another exam in the group, rate the six E-Business Essentials topics 4 or 5.
- 3
Adjust topic weights
Oracle publishes no percentages for these exams, so defaults follow the number of objectives per topic. After a failed attempt, raise the weight on the domains the CertView score report shows as weak.
- 4
Work the plan in a Vision instance
Each week lists EBS 12.2 documentation and hands-on setups. Use a Vision demo or a non-production clone, never production. Readiness combines your ratings and completed tasks.
- 5
Run a timed self-test and use the exam-day checklist
There is no official practice test on the exam pages, so the practice task is a timed self-test at the real length. Deadlines for rescheduling and system checks are dated from your exam date. Save to your account or export.
Questions
Which Oracle EBS certifications are still available?
On 2026-10-22 Oracle's certification page listed eight E-Business Suite exams, all marked active on MyLearn: 1Z0-516 General Ledger, 1Z0-517 Payables, 1Z0-518 Receivables, 1Z0-519 Inventory, 1Z0-520 Purchasing, 1Z0-521 Order Management (all R12.1 Essentials), 1Z0-511 Projects and 1Z0-548 Human Capital Management (R12 Essentials). Each leads to a Certified Implementation Specialist credential.
Is there an Oracle EBS 12.2 or EBS DBA certification?
Not in Oracle's current list. The functional exams are titled R12 or R12.1 even though Oracle's recommended courses are R12.2.9. No EBS applications DBA or developer exam appears on the certification page, so technical staff usually certify on Oracle Database and use EBS 12.2 training on MyLearn instead.
How many questions are on the EBS exams and what is the passing score?
GL, Payables, Receivables, Inventory, Purchasing and Order Management: 64 multiple-choice questions, 120 minutes, 60% to pass. Projects (1Z0-511): 70 questions, 120 minutes, 63%. Human Capital Management (1Z0-548): 70 questions, 120 minutes, 65%. Check the MyLearn exam page again before you book.
How much does an Oracle EBS certification exam cost?
Oracle sells exam attempts in MyLearn and the price depends on your country and currency, so we do not show a number. Enter the price from your MyLearn checkout in the planner's cost box. Budget for a possible retake: each attempt is paid separately.
Do EBS certifications expire?
Oracle's recertification policy names only certain Oracle Database credentials, and no expiry or recertification rule is published for the EBS credentials. Check the credential record in CertView, and note that Oracle can retire an exam even when the credential remains valid.
Are the topics weighted?
Oracle does not publish percentage weights for these exams. The planner defaults to each topic's share of the official objectives and lets you type your own weights. After an attempt, the CertView score report breaks results down by exam domain, which is the best guide for a retake.
Where can I practice EBS hands-on?
Oracle's Rapid Install can create a Vision Demonstration database with seeded companies, items, customers and suppliers; the hands-on tasks in this planner assume one. A non-production clone of your own instance also works. Do not practice setups such as accounting setups or flexfield changes in production.
What are the exam-day rules?
Exams are live proctored online through MyLearn. Use the latest Chrome or Edge on Windows 10 or 11 or macOS 13 or later, one display, a webcam and microphone, a stable connection without hotspot or VPN, and a valid government ID. Check in 30 minutes early. Pen and paper are not allowed; a digital whiteboard is provided. Reschedule or cancel at least 24 hours ahead.
Should I certify on EBS or on Oracle Fusion Cloud?
Certify on what you implement. If your clients or employer run EBS 12.2 and plan to stay, an EBS credential is directly relevant. If a move to Fusion Cloud ERP is planned, Oracle's Fusion Cloud Applications exams are refreshed regularly while these EBS exams are not, so plan the Fusion exam next.
