Infor M3 Bookmark Generator: Open a Program Directly with Keys

A bookmark tells M3 which program to open and which record to show. Teams use them in mashups, dashboards and documents so users can jump straight to an order, item or supplier. This generator assembles the string from the pieces.

Smart Office / mforms style

mforms://bookmark?program=OIS100&table=OOHEAD&keys=OAORNO%2C0000012345&option=5&panel=E&includestartpanel=True

Bookmark parameter checklist

program   = OIS100
table     = OOHEAD
keys      = OAORNO = 0000012345
option    = 5
panel     = E
tenant    = ACME_TST
H5 host   = https://m3.example.com

Where to use it

Use the string as a hyperlink target in Smart Office mashups, Infor Ming.le or OS widgets, or as the bookmark value in an H5 link or script. For H5, wrap the bookmark in the H5 URL format used by your environment and test with a real record before publishing.

Bookmark syntax is supported in Smart Office and H5 but the exact URL wrapper for H5 and cloud tenants varies by version and tenant setup. Percent-encode the comma between key name and value (%2C) and test every link on a non-production environment. Pre-fill the key values with the real record number, left padded if the field requires it.

Link your tools into M3

We can review how your teams jump between systems and M3, as an optional follow-up.

Optional. The tool and every export work without this. No spam.

How to use the generator

Enter the program, such as MMS001 or OIS100, and the table that holds the record. Then give the key field names and their values in the same order, plus the option and panel. The tool builds the bookmark string. Check the key names by opening the program once and noting which fields identify the record.

  • Program: the M3 program code
  • Keys: field names and values for the record
  • Option: the menu option to run, for example display
  • Panel: the panel letter to land on

Understanding the parts

A bookmark has a program, a table with key fields that pre-select a record, an optional option and panel, and flags such as whether to show the start panel. The structure is the same whether the bookmark is clicked in Smart Office, embedded in a mashup or passed to an H5 environment, though the surrounding URL wrapper differs.

Common mistakes

Using the wrong key field is the most common error: the record does not load or the wrong one opens. Another is forgetting to encode the comma between a field name and its value, which breaks parsing. Also check authority: a bookmark opens only what the user is allowed to see, so test links with a typical user role, not only an administrator.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an M3 bookmark?

It is a reference that opens an M3 program at a given record, option and panel. Bookmarks are used by Smart Office, H5 and mashups so a user can jump to a specific order, item or supplier from a link.

Do bookmarks bypass security?

No. The user needs authority to the program and data. If they do not, the bookmark fails or shows an error. Always test with a normal role.

Can I use a bookmark in H5?

Yes, but the surrounding URL depends on your H5 or cloud setup. The bookmark content is the same. Check how your tenant formats H5 deep links and test before sharing widely.

How do I find the key fields?

Open the program, select a record and check the field help for the key fields. The table browser and API metadata also list them. Use the exact technical names including prefix for table-based bookmarks.
