Replace the example steps with the actual steps for your process, using the screen and role names in your environment. Keep evidence such as screenshots with the signed script.

Want first draft scripts from your processes?

Optional expert review of your UAT scope and scripts.

Optional. The tool and every export work without this. No spam.

How to use the template

Fill in the header fields, then rewrite the example steps for your business process. One script should cover one end to end process outcome, such as a purchase to receipt or a work order to finished goods. State the test data in the preconditions so any tester can repeat it. Print or export, execute, record the actual result and sign.

Writing good steps

Each step should have one action and one verifiable expected result. Name the role used, since Fusion security often explains why a button is missing. Use real item and order numbers from your test data. Avoid steps like 'check that it works'. A reviewer should be able to tell from the page whether the step passed without asking the tester.

  • One action per step
  • Expected result is observable
  • Name the role and environment
  • Reference the defect number on a fail

Reading the results

Pass with defects means the process completed but a defect exists. Record its reference and severity so the go-live decision can weigh it. Blocked means a dependency, such as missing data or access, stopped the test and the script must be repeated. Track pass rates by module in your test tool and do not close a cycle on a count alone; review severity.

Common mistakes

Testing with administrator roles, using data that differs from production, and skipping negative cases such as a receipt over tolerance or a shortage at issue. Also retest after each quarterly update or configuration change. A signed script from an earlier build is not evidence for the current one.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many scripts does an SCM implementation need?

It depends on scope. A typical discrete manufacturer needs scripts for each core flow, including procure to pay, order to cash, plan to produce and inventory control, plus variants and integrations. Write by process, then add variants.

Who should execute UAT scripts?

Business users who will do the work, with the consultants observing and supporting. Consultant executed scripts count as system testing, not acceptance, because they do not prove the business can operate the process.

Should UAT use migrated data?

Ideally yes, at least for the final cycle. Migrated data exposes problems with item attributes, units of measure and structures that clean test data hides. Use a mock load as the basis.

What counts as sign off?

A signature from the tester and the process owner that the script passed, or that remaining defects are accepted. Keep the signed record with the evidence for audit and for regression after updates.
