Priority ERP Form Design Template for Developers and Consultants
Priority is an ERP platform where forms are the main building block, with columns, triggers and sub-forms defined in the system. A short written design before you build saves rework. This template turns the key decisions into a document you can export and sign.

Business purpose
Record the result of incoming inspection for each goods receipt line, so purchasing can score suppliers and quality can block lots that fail.
Placement
Parent form and menu: Purchase Orders, Goods Receipt, Quality submenu

Approvals
This is a design document for you to hand to a developer or keep with your change records. Form, column and trigger names follow the conventions of your own Priority environment, and your local naming rules for custom objects apply. Verify the exact tooling and trigger events against the Priority version you run.
Priority customization review
We can look at your list of custom forms and triggers and flag upgrade risk. Optional and free to discuss.
Optional. The tool and every export work without this. No spam.
How to use this template
Fill in the fields at the top, then complete the column and sub-form tables by hand or in Excel after export. Keep the purpose statement to two or three sentences that a plant manager would understand. List every column the user will see, including which are mandatory or read only, and where defaults come from. Share the PDF with the business owner for approval before development starts.
What a good form design covers
Priority forms mix data entry, validation and automation, so a design should cover each. Think about how the form sits in the menu and under which parent form, what the base table is, and what the user can do. Triggers carry the business rules, so describe them in plain language first and only then in code.
- Identity: technical name, title, type and base table
- Columns with mandatory, read only and default rules
- Trigger logic for insert, update, delete and field checks
- Sub-forms and how they link to the parent
- Privileges by role
- Test cases that a key user can run
Worked example
The default content describes an incoming quality check form linked to goods receipt. The business rule is simple: a failed result blocks the lot and tells the quality manager. Writing that down exposes questions early, such as who may override a block, whether partial failures are possible and what the purchasing team can see.
Common mistakes
Developers sometimes build the form first and write the rules afterwards, which leads to disagreements in testing. Another frequent problem is skipping privileges, so everyone can edit everything. Finally, teams forget upgrade impact. Keep custom forms separate from standard ones, document them and retest after each version update.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this an official Priority Software document?
No. It is an independent design template for people working with Priority. It is not issued by Priority Software, and you should follow your own implementation partner's naming and release rules.
Do I need this if I only change existing forms?
Yes, a shorter version still helps. Record what you change, why, and how you tested it. This protects you at the next upgrade when you need to know which standard objects were touched.
Can I export the document as Word?
Yes. The tool exports to PDF, Word, Excel and CSV so you can edit the tables further or attach the file to a change ticket.
How detailed should trigger logic be?
Describe it in plain steps with the event, the condition and the outcome. A developer can then write the code and a key user can confirm the behaviour without reading code.
If you want help drafting Priority form specifications from process descriptions or reviewing existing customizations, Netray can assist. The template is free to use on its own.
