SAP WM and EWM Transaction Codes Reference

SAP warehouse work lives in a small set of transaction codes. This list covers the ones consultants and supervisors use daily in classic WM and in EWM, grouped by area so you can find the right one quickly.

Role based SAP warehouse cheat sheet

Optional: send us your warehouse roles and we will suggest a transaction list per role for authorisation design.

Optional. The tool and every export work without this. No spam.

How to use the list

Search by code or by task, for example bin, cycle count or wave. Filter the Area column to see only physical inventory or only stock reports. Export the filtered list to Excel or PDF to build a role-based cheat sheet for your warehouse team or for authorisation design, where each transaction maps to an authorisation object and a business role.

WM and EWM transactions compared

In WM, most work flows through transfer orders created with LT01 or generated from deliveries, then confirmed with LT12 or by RF. In EWM, work is driven by warehouse tasks and warehouse orders, and the central transaction for supervisors is the warehouse monitor, /SCWM/MON. Where WM has separate reports for bins, stock and open orders, the EWM monitor presents them as nodes in one tree, which is faster for investigation but needs time to configure per user.

  • WM stock reports: LX02, LX03, LX10, LS24
  • EWM stock view: /SCWM/MON, stock and bin nodes
  • WM count entry: LI11N
  • EWM mobile work: /SCWM/RFUI

Common mistakes

Teams often give warehouse operators access to LX02 for convenience and then discover it runs slowly on large warehouses without filters. Another frequent error is granting create access to bins (LS01N) widely, which lets users create bins outside the storage type design. Authorisation should follow your bin and storage type governance, and master data creation should be limited to a small group.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between LT01 and LT03?

LT01 creates a transfer order by entering material, quantity, source and destination by hand. LT03 creates a transfer order for a requirement, so the system proposes bins using the putaway or removal strategies configured for the storage types.

Which transaction shows stock per bin in WM?

LX02 shows stock per storage bin and is the most used. LX03 gives a bin status report with occupancy by storage type. LS24 shows stock per material, which is the better starting point when you know the material.

What replaces the WM stock reports in EWM?

The warehouse monitor, /SCWM/MON, with its stock and bin nodes. You choose the warehouse number, drill into the node and filter by product, bin or handling unit. You can save layouts and variants for different roles.

Do these transactions work in S/4HANA?

Classic WM transactions are available in S/4HANA for the compatibility period, while embedded EWM transactions under /SCWM/ are the strategic path. Check the simplification list and the product availability matrix for your exact release.

If your team spends time hunting through transactions to answer simple stock questions, we can discuss a read-only assistant that answers them from your SAP data without giving users broader access.
