RoDTEP and Duty Drawback Export Incentive Tracker (Excel Worksheet)

Export incentives are real money that often sits unreconciled for months. This worksheet lists every shipping bill with its FOB value and applicable rates, computes the expected RoDTEP and drawback, and shows which claims have actually been credited.

Rates here are illustrative. Take the RoDTEP and drawback rates for each tariff line from the latest DGFT and CBIC notifications, and apply any value caps. A single shipment may be eligible for only one scheme on a given item.

Reconcile export incentives from ERP data

Optional. The tool and every export work without this. No spam.

How to use the tracker

Add one row per shipping bill after the let export order. Enter the FOB value from the shipping bill, then the RoDTEP rate and drawback rate for the tariff line. The sheet multiplies value by rate to give the expected incentive. Update the status as the scroll is generated and credit arrives, and compare the credited amount with your expected figure in your bank or ledger. Rows left in a status other than Credited for long periods are the ones to chase.

  • Use the FOB value stated on the shipping bill
  • Enter rate as a percentage number, such as 1.2
  • Set a rate to zero when the scheme does not apply to that line
  • Review non-credited rows every month

How the two schemes differ

RoDTEP refunds embedded central, state and local duties and taxes that are not otherwise rebated, and is credited as a transferable electronic scrip on the customs system. Duty drawback refunds customs and certain central duties paid on inputs, either at an all industry rate or a brand rate. Rates differ by tariff item and some items have per unit or value caps. Check the current notification for the tariff line of each product, and do not assume both are claimable on the same item.

Common mistakes

Exporters often book the incentive in the ledger at the time of shipment without checking that the shipping bill data was correct. A wrong tariff item, missing invoice detail or a mismatch with the GST return can hold up the scroll. Another error is applying last year's rate after a notification change. Keep the rate column current and keep the notification reference in your own notes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the rates in the example real?

No. They are illustrative placeholders. Real RoDTEP and drawback rates depend on the tariff line and change by notification, so take them from the latest DGFT and CBIC publications for your products.

Can I claim both RoDTEP and drawback?

Generally the same item cannot receive overlapping benefits for the same duties. Confirm eligibility for each tariff line with your customs consultant before you record both in the sheet.

Why does the incentive share of FOB matter?

It shows the effective benefit across your shipments. If it falls sharply, check for rejected claims, wrong tariff items or a rate change that you have not updated.

Can I export it to Excel?

Yes, the worksheet exports to Excel, PDF, Word and CSV so you can attach it to monthly management reporting.

If your ERP holds shipping and invoice data, we can help reconcile expected and credited incentives automatically. This sheet does the job manually without that.
