Findings and cost in one ERP view
Optional review of surfacing non-routine cost from your ERP or MRO system.
Optional. The tool and every export work without this. No spam.
How to use the worksheet
Add a row for each non-routine card as it is raised. Enter the parent task card, a short finding description, estimated hours, labor rate and parts cost. Line total and labor cost calculate automatically, and the totals show the exposure. Update the status as approvals arrive. Export to Excel to send a snapshot to the customer or the commercial team, and refresh daily during a check so the numbers do not go stale.
How to read the results
The total NRC value is the money in play, but only part of it is approved. Filter by status in Excel to separate open, approved and closed work. A rising labor share often signals access and removal effort, while a high parts share points to material and lead time risk.
- Open and Awaiting approval lines are unbilled risk
- Awaiting parts lines drive turn time, chase them first
- Average cost per finding helps estimate the next check
Common mistakes
Teams often log findings only in the paper stack, so the cost summary lags the hangar by days. Another error is using one average labor rate when line, avionics and structures rates differ; split rows by skill if needed. Do not close a line until the closing task card, release and any parts traceability are complete. If your ERP or MRO system holds non-routine cards, use this sheet as a quick view and reconcile weekly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a replacement for my MRO software?
No. It is a quick working log for planners who currently use Excel. It does not replace controlled records in your maintenance information system.
Can I add more columns?
Export to Excel and extend it as you like, for example ATA chapter, customer approval date or ordered parts reference.
How do I handle different labor rates?
Enter the applicable rate on each row. You can use a different rate for avionics, structures or cabin work and the totals still sum correctly.
What does labor share tell me?
It shows the portion of total value that is labor rather than parts. Use it to spot checks dominated by access time or by material.
If findings and estimates are scattered across spreadsheets and email, we can help bring them into your ERP reporting.
