SAP MM Transaction Codes List (Searchable T-Code Reference)

SAP MM has hundreds of transaction codes but a working consultant, buyer or key user lives in about sixty of them. This searchable list groups the daily ones by process so you can find the right T-code without trawling SAP Easy Access.

Search by code or keyword. Availability differs by release: several classic transactions are replaced by Fiori apps or marked obsolete in S/4HANA, so confirm in your own system with SE93 or the SAP Fiori apps reference library.

Ask SAP in plain English

Want buyers to get PO and stock answers without memorizing T-codes? We can show a read-only demo over your SAP data.

Optional. The tool and every export work without this. No spam.

How to use the list

Type a code, a keyword such as 'invoice' or 'source list', or an area name into the search box and the table filters instantly. Rows are grouped by process: requisition, purchase order, outline agreements, sourcing, info records, material master, inventory, physical inventory, invoice verification, MRP and period close. Use the export buttons to take a trimmed copy into Excel or PDF for a team cheat sheet or a role-specific training pack.

  • Search by T-code, keyword or area
  • Note column flags tables and S/4HANA differences
  • Export the filtered view for training handouts

S/4HANA differences worth knowing

S/4HANA keeps most MM transactions but changes what sits underneath them. Material documents are stored in table MATDOC, with MKPF and MSEG kept as compatibility views. MD01N (MRP Live) runs on HANA and is the recommended planning run, though classic MD01 remains. Vendors are maintained as business partners through transaction BP, not XK01. Many classic goods movement transactions such as MB1A, MB1B and MB1C are obsolete in favor of MIGO, and Fiori apps now cover much daily buyer work.

Common mistakes

People still memorize old codes and hit authorization errors because the role only grants the Fiori app or the newer transaction. Another frequent error is mixing the single-screen transactions with their older split versions: ME21N and ME21 behave differently, and ME21 is obsolete. Finally, report transactions such as ME2M, ME2L and ME2N show different selection screens for the same PO tables, so choose the one that matches how you search: by material, vendor or PO number.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between ME21N and ME21?

ME21N is the current single-screen purchase order transaction with header and item overview. ME21 was the older multi-screen version and is obsolete. ME22N and ME23N are the matching change and display transactions. In S/4HANA the Fiori app Manage Purchase Orders is also available.

Which T-code do I use to see stock for a material?

MMBE gives a stock overview by plant, storage location, batch and special stock. MB52 lists warehouse stocks with value and works well for many materials at once. For stock on a past date use MB5B. In S/4HANA the Fiori app Stock Multiple Materials is also common.

How do I find a transaction code I do not know?

Use SE93 to search the transaction directory by short text, or use the menu path search in SAP Easy Access. In a running screen, the System menu, Status entry shows the current program and transaction code. This list covers the daily MM set only.

Are all these transactions available in S/4HANA?

Most are, but some are obsolete or replaced by Fiori apps, and some behave differently in S/4HANA. For example material documents come from MATDOC and vendor maintenance moved to business partners. Check your release in SE93 and the Fiori apps reference library before standardizing training.

If your buyers still pull answers by running several of these transactions, we can put a read-only natural language layer over your SAP data that shows the query it ran. Ask us for a walkthrough.
