Module Fit and Gap Explorer

SYSPRO ERP modules: fit and gap explorer

SYSPRO is a manufacturing and distribution ERP on Microsoft SQL Server, run on-premise, through a managed service provider, or as SYSPRO Cloud ERP on Microsoft Azure. This explorer maps SYSPRO 8 modules such as Work in Progress, Requirements Planning, Quality Management, Projects and Contracts and the embedded warehouse functions to your manufacturing requirements, and separates them from SYSPRO add-on products such as SYSPRO WMS, Mobile Warehouse and Manufacturing Operations Management. Anything we could not confirm in SYSPRO documentation is marked verify with vendor.

38 modules and products mapped (21 standard, 9 optional, 8 add-on, separate or third party) against 69 manufacturing requirements. Free, no login needed.

Your own requirements

Not in the library? Add it. It is listed in the report and the engineer review, but not scored.

How to use it

  1. 1

    Pick your requirements

Start from a preset such as Discrete job shop or Engineer-to-order, or tick requirements one by one. Set each to Must, Should or Nice to have.

  2. 2

    Read the fit

Each requirement shows the SYSPRO module or program that covers it, for example WIP Subcontract Operation Management (WIPPSM) or the Inspection Engine in Quality Management, with the caveats from SYSPRO help.

  3. 3

    Check the module map

The module map lists core SYSPRO 8 modules, named modules that help lists as license requirements, and separate SYSPRO products such as SYSPRO WMS, Mobile Warehouse, DataSwitch and Torque.

  4. 4

    Compare and export

Compare the same requirement set with another ERP, then download the fit-gap report as PDF, Excel, Word or CSV, or save it to your Netray account.

SYSPRO module questions

What modules does SYSPRO ERP include?

SYSPRO groups its product into Foundations (security, reporting, contact management, workflows, integration), Finance (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Book, EFT, Assets Register, Tax Management), Manufacturing (Work in Progress, Bill of Materials, Product Configurator, Requirements Planning, MOM, Engineering Change Control, Inventory Planning, Projects and Contracts, Quality Management, Enterprise Asset Management) and Supply Chain (sales orders, quotations and estimates, warehouse functions, procurement, Point of Sale, Supply Chain Portal, Lot Traceability, Trade Promotions, Landed Cost Tracking, returns). Advanced products include SYSPRO WMS, Mobile Warehouse, TimeTrack, DataSwitch and Application Designer.

How is SYSPRO licensed, and what does SYSPRO cost?

SYSPRO has announced it is discontinuing the Initial License Fee and Annual License Fee model. Software is now sold only as a named-user subscription that gives access to the full module entitlement. Existing licenses run until 31 October 2026 outside the U.S. and 31 December 2026 in the U.S. SYSPRO does not publish prices, so get a quote for your user count and deployment.

Is SYSPRO on-premise or cloud?

SYSPRO describes three models: on-premise, a managed service provider, and SYSPRO Cloud ERP on Microsoft Azure, licensed monthly. The database is Microsoft SQL Server, and users work in SYSPRO Desktop or the SYSPRO Web UI (Avanti).

Does SYSPRO have a warehouse management system?

Inventory Control includes License Plate Numbering, Missions and Tasks for put-away, picking and counts, Order Picking, Marshalling and Kanban Automated Replenishment. SYSPRO WMS, formerly DATASCOPE WMS, is a separate standalone product with picking strategies and wave releases. Barcode scanning comes from SYSPRO Mobile Warehouse or Espresso apps.

What does SYSPRO Quality Management cover?

The Inspection Engine for purchase order and job receipts with AQL sampling, In-Process Inspection at routing operations (2026 R1), and Non Conformance Reporting with corrective and preventative action. We found no SPC control charts or gauge calibration in SYSPRO documentation, so mark those as gaps until SYSPRO confirms otherwise.

How does SYSPRO integrate with other systems?

Through e.net Solutions business objects that take and return XML (for example SORTOI for sales order import), the Syspro 8 Web Service and OData service, and DataSwitch for API, file and EDI integrations. SYSPRO Torque, the AI platform, also calls business objects rather than writing to the database.

How often does SYSPRO release updates?

SYSPRO 8 had R1 and R2 releases each year from 2018 to 2021, single releases for 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025, and 2026 R1 and 2026 R2. Each release adds programs and options, for example the Purchase Pricing Engine and In-Process Inspection in 2026 R1 and Catch Weight in 2026 R2.

How is the fit score calculated?

Each selected requirement is weighted by priority: Must 3, Should 2, Nice to have 1. A native module scores 100 percent, an add-on from the same vendor 75, a partner product 50 and a gap 0. Items marked verify with vendor count at their stated fit but are listed separately so you can confirm them.

Sources

Based on the SYSPRO 8 help library for 2026 R1 and 2026 R2 and the SYSPRO product pages. SYSPRO 8 shipped R1 and R2 releases from 2018 to 2021, one release a year from 2022 to 2025, and 2026 R1 and R2 in 2026. SYSPRO is moving all customers to a named-user subscription: existing licenses run to 31 October 2026 outside the U.S. and 31 December 2026 in the U.S. Confirm module entitlement and deployment with SYSPRO or your partner.
