Module Fit and Gap Explorer

Oracle NetSuite modules: fit and gap explorer

Oracle NetSuite is a cloud ERP that combines financials, CRM, inventory, manufacturing and ecommerce on one account, extended by NetSuite-built SuiteApps such as Advanced Manufacturing, Quality Management and NetSuite WMS. This explorer maps NetSuite 2026.2 features and SuiteApps to your manufacturing requirements and shows whether each fit is a core feature, a separately provisioned module or SuiteApp, a separate NetSuite product or a third-party product. Anything we could not confirm in the NetSuite Help Center is marked verify with vendor.

41 modules and products mapped (16 standard, 18 optional, 7 add-on, separate or third party) against 69 manufacturing requirements. Free, no login needed.

Your own requirements

Not in the library? Add it. It is listed in the report and the engineer review, but not scored.

How to use it

  1. 1

    Pick your requirements

Start from a preset such as Discrete job shop or Multi-plant, multi-country, or tick requirements one by one. Set each to Must, Should or Nice to have.

  2. 2

    Read the fit

Each requirement shows the NetSuite feature, record or SuiteApp that covers it, for example Supply Planning, Manufacturing Routing, NetSuite WMS or the Quality Management SuiteApp, with the caveats from the Help Center.

  3. 3

    Check what is licensed

The module map flags modules and SuiteApps that the Help Center says need provisioning, the Advanced Inventory module or Professional Services setup. Confirm each one against your NetSuite order form before you count it as included.

  4. 4

    Compare and export

Compare the same requirement set with another ERP, then download the fit-gap report as PDF, Excel, Word or CSV, or save it to your Netray account.

NetSuite module questions

What modules does NetSuite include?

NetSuite groups its Help Center into Accounting (general ledger, payables, receivables, banking, revenue recognition, fixed assets), Order Management, CRM (sales force automation, marketing, support), Vendors, Purchasing and Receiving, Inventory Management, Manufacturing, Warehouse Management, Projects, Employees and Payroll, Commerce and the SuiteCloud platform. Many manufacturing capabilities come as NetSuite-built SuiteApps, such as Advanced Manufacturing, Quality Management, Supply Chain Management and Field Service Management. OneWorld adds multi-subsidiary management.

How is NetSuite priced, and what drives cost?

NetSuite does not publish list prices. Cost depends on the base subscription, the modules and SuiteApps you license, user licenses and the service tier. The Help Center lists Full, Employee Center, Retail and Specialized user licenses (CRM, Project Manager, Site Operator, View and Approve, WMS) and four service tiers, Standard, Premium, Enterprise and Ultimate, that cap users, file storage and monthly transaction lines. Use the NetSuite cost calculator with reported ranges you can edit, then confirm with a quote.

Does NetSuite have manufacturing and MRP?

Yes. Core Manufacturing covers assembly items, work orders, Advanced BOM, WIP and Manufacturing Routing with forward or backward scheduling. Supply Planning under Advanced Inventory Management runs MRP with planned orders and exception messages. The Advanced Manufacturing SuiteApp adds finite scheduling, shop floor travelers and data collection, and Manufacturing Mobile handles scanner reporting.

Is NetSuite WMS part of inventory management?

NetSuite WMS is a separate feature on top of inventory management. The Help Center says it is available only in accounts that use Advanced Inventory Management. It runs receiving, putaway, counts, replenishment, waves, picking, packing and shipping on the SCM Mobile app, and works with NetSuite Ship Central for packing and multi-carrier shipping.

Which NetSuite APIs are used for integration?

SuiteTalk REST Web Services (record service, query service and SuiteQL), SuiteTalk SOAP Web Services, RESTlets written in SuiteScript, and SuiteAnalytics Connect for ODBC and JDBC reads. Authentication uses Token-based Authentication or OAuth 2.0. SuiteQL also runs through the N/query module. Concurrency limits depend on the service tier and SuiteCloud Plus licenses. NetSuite publishes a SOAP to REST upgrade guide.

What is the difference between SuiteCommerce and SuiteCommerce Advanced?

Both are NetSuite web store products on the same item, customer and order records, with B2B and B2C support and Site Management Tools. SuiteCommerce is customized with themes and extensions; SuiteCommerce Advanced also gives complete control over the source code. Upgrading starts with your account representative provisioning the modules, then moving domains to the SuiteCommerce Advanced SSP application.

How often is NetSuite upgraded?

NetSuite has two major releases a year, delivered to accounts in phases over a few months, plus minor releases and hot pushes for fixes. Before your upgrade you can request a Release Preview account to test with your own data. This map follows NetSuite 2026.2; your release number is in the Home page footer.

What NetSuite certifications are there?

Oracle runs the NetSuite Certification Program as role-based tracks that progress from Associate to Professional level, starting with the SuiteFoundation series at Associate and Specialist levels. Training, certification exams and recertification are on NetSuite MyLearn. Check the program page for current exam names and requirements.

Sources

Based on the NetSuite 2026.2 Help Center (release notes revised October 19, 2026) and the 2026.1 release of SuiteCommerce, SuiteCommerce MyAccount and SuiteCommerce Advanced. NetSuite has two major releases a year and upgrades accounts in phases; SuiteApps such as Advanced Manufacturing, Quality Management and Field Service Management ship their own updates. Which features you can use depends on the modules, SuiteApps and service tier on your contract.
