JD Edwards EnterpriseOne implementation partner scorecard
Compare up to five JD Edwards EnterpriseOne partners or consultants on weighted criteria and see the ranking update as you score. The interview bank tests what separates JDE specialists from generalists: Orchestrator and the AIS Server, UBEs and batch versions, OMW projects and package builds, ESUs, Tools releases and the Spec Merge, AAIs, order activity rules and UDOs.
Neutral by design: this tool does not name, rank or recommend any consulting firm. You add the candidates.
Step 1: Add the candidates
Up to 5 partners or individual consultants.
No candidates yet. Add the partners on your shortlist, or start with placeholders and rename them later.
Step 2: Set the weights
0 ignores a criterion, 5 makes it critical. Share shows its part of the total.
Step 3: Score each candidate
1 poor, 3 adequate, 5 excellent. Use the arrow keys inside a score row.
Add a candidate in step 1 to start scoring.
Step 4: Weighted ranking
Scores are normalized to 100 over the criteria you have scored.
The ranking appears here once you add candidates and score them.
Want a second opinion before you sign? An engineer who works on JDE will read your scorecard and reply with what to probe further.
JDE interview question bank
27 questions by role, each with what a strong answer covers. Add questions to your interview pack; it is included in the export.
Red flags in JDE partner evaluations
Senior people in the sales meeting, unnamed juniors on the proposal
The team you interview should be the team you get. Ask for a key-person clause.
No JDE-specific answers on AAIs, order activity rules, OMW or Orchestrator
Generalist ERP consultants learn the product on your budget.
Plans direct SQL inserts or updates to load or fix data in tables such as F4211 or F0911
Bypasses business functions, next numbers and edits. Use Z tables, orchestrations or supported programs.
No named CNC administrator or package build plan
Every object change reaches users through OMW and packages. Someone must own that.
Retrofit estimate given without an object inventory
Effort depends on the modified objects the Spec Merge and analysis reports identify.
ESUs or Tools releases applied straight to production
ESUs can touch your modified objects. Apply and test in a lower path code first.
Modifies delivered objects or XJDE and ZJDE versions when a copy, UDO or orchestration would do
Every modified standard object adds retrofit work at each update.
References only from JD Edwards World or other Oracle products, or more than a few years old
EnterpriseOne Tools releases and Orchestrator change often. Recent EnterpriseOne references matter.
Low fixed fee with broad exclusions
Exclusions such as data, reports, interfaces and retrofit usually return as change orders.
No cutover rehearsal in the plan
The first full data load should never be the go-live.
Certifications claimed for the firm but not the named people
Ask for each consultant's certification name and date and verify it.
Unverifiable claims of exclusive status or guaranteed timelines
Ask for written evidence. Real partners describe risks, not guarantees.
How to use the JDE partner scorecard
- 1
Add the candidates
Enter up to five partners or individual consultants. Use the names you have in your shortlist; nothing leaves your browser unless you save or ask for a review.
- 2
Set the weights
Weight each criterion from 0 (ignore) to 5 (critical). A 9.1 to 9.2 upgrade with many custom objects should weight product depth, CNC and on-prem experience higher than a code-current 9.2 site looking for a support partner.
- 3
Interview with the question bank
Pick questions by role. Ask functional questions to the finance or distribution consultant, technical questions to the developer and the CNC administrator who will touch your system, and project-lead questions to the named project manager, not the sales lead.
- 4
Score each candidate 1 to 5
Score against the evidence notes for each criterion and tick any red flags you heard. The weighted ranking and chart update instantly.
- 5
Export or save
Download the scorecard as PDF, Excel, Word or CSV for your selection committee, or save it to your Netray account to continue later.
Questions
What should a JD Edwards implementation partner be able to show me?
A named team covering functional, development and CNC roles, a project plan with conference room pilots, test cycles and cutover rehearsals, sample deliverables from a past EnterpriseOne project, and recent references on a similar release. They should also explain how they govern custom objects through OMW and packages and how they keep you current with ESUs and Tools releases.
What is the difference between a Tools release, an ESU and an ASU?
The Tools release is the EnterpriseOne system foundation (servers, runtime, AIS and Orchestrator Studio). ESUs are fixes to specific applications or reports, downloaded from the Update Center and usually deployed with Change Assistant. ASUs are packaged sets of application enhancements. Ask candidates how they test each type against your modified objects before production.
How long is JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.2 supported?
Oracle states that Premier Support for EnterpriseOne 9.2 is available through at least 2037 and that customers get new features as updates to 9.2 without a full upgrade. Confirm the current terms with Oracle, because the date has been extended over time.
Should integrations use Orchestrator or something else?
Orchestrator, running on the AIS Server, exposes orchestrations as REST endpoints and can call JDE applications, reports, external REST services and databases. It is the current Oracle-supported route for most new integrations. A good partner will still ask about volume, latency and error handling, and will check which Tools release and Orchestrator Studio version you run.
Which Oracle certifications should JD Edwards consultants have?
Oracle University lists JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.2 Certified Implementation Specialist tracks, including Financial Management and Configurable Network Computing. Ask for the certification name and date for each named consultant and verify it. Certification shows product training; references and interviews show delivery skill.
Should I hire a partner firm or an independent JDE consultant?
A firm can staff functional, development and CNC roles, cover holidays and absorb turnover, while an independent consultant can be more senior per hour but is a single point of failure. Score both on the same criteria. For an upgrade or implementation you need CNC coverage even if the functional work is done by one person.
How should I weight the criteria?
Start from the preset closest to your project. Upgrades from customized 9.1 or World systems should weight product depth, team continuity and CNC experience highest. New implementations should weight industry fit and methodology higher. Set a criterion to 0 if it does not matter to you.
Is my data stored anywhere?
The scorecard runs in your browser. It is only stored if you choose to save it to your Netray account, and only sent to us if you ask an engineer to review it.
