NetSuite implementation partner and consultant scorecard
Compare up to five NetSuite Solution Providers or independent consultants on weighted criteria and see the ranking update as you score. The interview bank tests what separates NetSuite specialists from generalists: SuiteFlow and SuiteScript 2.1, SuiteCloud Development Framework, SuiteQL and REST web services, the move from TBA to OAuth 2.0, Release Preview testing, WMS, manufacturing and SuiteCommerce.
Neutral by design: this tool does not name, rank or recommend any consulting firm. You add the candidates.
Step 1: Add the candidates
Up to 5 partners or individual consultants.
No candidates yet. Add the partners on your shortlist, or start with placeholders and rename them later.
Step 2: Set the weights
0 ignores a criterion, 5 makes it critical. Share shows its part of the total.
Step 3: Score each candidate
1 poor, 3 adequate, 5 excellent. Use the arrow keys inside a score row.
Add a candidate in step 1 to start scoring.
Step 4: Weighted ranking
Scores are normalized to 100 over the criteria you have scored.
The ranking appears here once you add candidates and score them.

NetSuite interview question bank
27 questions by role, each with what a strong answer covers. Add questions to your interview pack; it is included in the export.
Red flags in NetSuite partner evaluations
Senior people in the sales meeting, unnamed juniors on the proposal
The team you interview should be the team you get. Ask for a key-person clause.
Will not separate the NetSuite subscription from services fees
A Solution Provider can sell and implement NetSuite. You need both numbers to compare candidates fairly.
Writes new scripts in SuiteScript 1.0 or 2.0
NetSuite is phasing out 1.0, 2.0 and 2.x; from 2028.2 all scripts must use SuiteScript 2.1.
Proposes new integrations on TBA, NLAuth or user credentials
New TBA integrations are blocked from 2027.1 and NLAuth stops working in 2027.1. Use OAuth 2.0.
Plans to build or test directly in production
Use sandbox and SDF projects so changes are tested, versioned and deployed the same way every time.
No plan for Release Preview testing
Two scheduled upgrades a year can break scripts and integrations. Testing existing workflows in Release Preview is the control.
Every requirement becomes a custom script
Scripts cost governance, testing and maintenance at each upgrade. Configuration and SuiteFlow should come first.
No data migration rehearsal in the plan
Load errors and reconciliation gaps only appear in a measured rehearsal.
Certifications claimed for the firm but not the named people
Ask for each consultant's certification name and date and whether it is current.
Low fixed fee with broad exclusions
Excluded data, integrations and reports usually return as change orders.
Integrations or daily work run under the Administrator role
Use dedicated roles with least privilege so access can be audited and revoked.
Unverifiable claims of exclusive status, guaranteed timelines or AI features
Ask for written evidence and confirm with NetSuite. Real partners describe risks, not guarantees.
How to use the NetSuite partner scorecard
- 1
Add the candidates
Enter up to five Solution Providers, NetSuite's own consulting team or independent consultants from your shortlist. Nothing leaves your browser unless you save or ask for a review.
- 2
Pick a preset and set the weights
Weight each criterion from 0 (ignore) to 5 (critical). A new implementation should weight industry fit and methodology higher; a rescue or optimization of a heavily scripted account should weight product depth and technical team higher.
- 3
Interview with the question bank
Pick questions by role. Ask functional questions to the consultant who will run design sessions, technical questions to the SuiteScript and integration developer, and project-lead questions to the named project manager, not the account executive.
- 4
Score each candidate 1 to 5
Score against the evidence notes for each criterion and tick any red flags you heard. The weighted ranking and chart update instantly.
- 5
Export or save
Download the scorecard as PDF, Excel, Word or CSV for your selection committee, or save it to your Netray account to continue later.
Questions
What should a NetSuite implementation partner be able to show me?
A named team with NetSuite go-lives by role, a plan with design sessions, data rehearsals, UAT and a cutover runbook, sample deliverables from a past NetSuite project, and recent references with similar modules and integrations. They should also explain how they govern scripts, workflows and SuiteApps added to your account.
What types of NetSuite partners are there?
NetSuite lists Solution Providers, which consult, sell and implement NetSuite, as well as Alliance Partners, a BPO Partner Program and developers who build SuiteApps. NetSuite also offers its own consulting services. Score every option, including independent NetSuite consultants, on the same criteria.
Which NetSuite certifications should consultants have?
NetSuite's program starts with SuiteFoundation (Associate and Specialist) and continues with role tracks such as Administrator Professional, ERP Consultant Professional, Application Developer Professional and Web Services Developer Professional. Holding SuiteFoundation, Application Developer and Web Services Developer earns the SuiteCloud Developer credential. Ask for each named consultant's certification and date; recertification is handled on Oracle MyLearn.
How does NetSuite pricing affect partner selection?
The NetSuite subscription and the partner's services are separate costs, even when a Solution Provider quotes both. This page does not list NetSuite prices. Ask every candidate for a subscription quote that lists modules, SuiteApps and user counts, and a services estimate with numeric assumptions, then compare like for like.
Should I hire a NetSuite partner firm or an independent NetSuite consultant?
A firm can staff functional, development, integration and project management roles and absorb turnover. An independent consultant can be senior and focused but is a single point of failure. Score both on the same criteria, and check that someone covers SuiteScript 2.1 and integration work.
What technical changes should a NetSuite partner already be planning for?
NetSuite has published a SuiteScript 2.1 transition that ends support for older script versions by 2028.2, an end to new TBA integrations and NLAuth in 2027.1 in favor of OAuth 2.0 with PKCE, automatic 2FA for all roles in 2027.1, and the end of support for SuiteCloud CLI for Java. A strong partner raises these without being asked.
How should I weight the criteria?
Start from the preset closest to your project. New implementations should weight industry fit and methodology highest. Optimization of a heavily scripted account should weight product depth, team and integration experience higher. Set a criterion to 0 if it does not matter to you.
Is my data stored anywhere?
The scorecard runs in your browser. It is only stored if you choose to save it to your Netray account, and only sent to us if you ask an engineer to review it.
