SYSPRO ERP implementation partner scorecard
Compare up to five SYSPRO ERP partners or consultants on weighted criteria and see the ranking update as you score. The interview bank is written for SYSPRO 8 on-premise and Syspro Cloud ERP projects and tests what separates SYSPRO specialists from generalists: e.net business objects and the Communications Load Balancer, OData and Business Activity Queries, Application Designer and custom form fields, Document Flow Manager, the Rules Engine, Workflow Services and the annual release update process.
Neutral by design: this tool does not name, rank or recommend any consulting firm. You add the candidates.
Step 1: Add the candidates
Up to 5 partners or individual consultants.
No candidates yet. Add the partners on your shortlist, or start with placeholders and rename them later.
Step 2: Set the weights
0 ignores a criterion, 5 makes it critical. Share shows its part of the total.
Step 3: Score each candidate
1 poor, 3 adequate, 5 excellent. Use the arrow keys inside a score row.
Add a candidate in step 1 to start scoring.
Step 4: Weighted ranking
Scores are normalized to 100 over the criteria you have scored.
The ranking appears here once you add candidates and score them.

SYSPRO interview question bank
26 questions by role, each with what a strong answer covers. Add questions to your interview pack; it is included in the export.
Red flags in SYSPRO partner evaluations
Senior people in the sales meeting, unnamed juniors on the proposal
The team you interview should be the team you get. Ask for a key-person clause.
No SYSPRO-specific answers on e.net, DFM, costing or job processing
Generalist ERP consultants learn the product on your budget.
Plans direct SQL inserts or table edits to load or fix data
Bypasses SYSPRO business logic and validation. Business objects and supported imports exist for this, and direct SQL access is restricted in Syspro Cloud ERP.
Exposes data through OData without discussing security
SYSPRO documents that the OData service bypasses the SYSPRO security framework, so operator controls such as branch access do not apply.
Says customizations come through release updates automatically
Custom applications, rules, DFM contracts, reports and stationery all need an inventory and retest after each update.
Experience is mostly SYSPRO 7 or several releases old
SYSPRO 8 changed the services, installer and update process, and each named release adds and retires features.
Low fixed fee with broad exclusions
Exclusions such as data, reports, stationery and interfaces usually return as change orders.
Data migration is entirely the customer's job
Import layouts, mapping and rehearsals need product knowledge from the partner.
No cutover rehearsal or opening balance validation in the plan
The first full data load should never be the go-live.
Certifications claimed for the firm but not the named people
Ask for each consultant's certification name and date and check the partner in the SYSPRO Partner Directory.
Customizations and integrations excluded from post go-live support
Someone must own the rules, workflows, DFM contracts and custom applications they built.
Unverifiable claims of exclusive status or guaranteed timelines
Ask for written evidence. Real partners describe risks, not guarantees.
How to use the SYSPRO partner scorecard
- 1
Add the candidates
Enter up to five partners or individual consultants from your shortlist. Nothing leaves your browser unless you save or ask for a review.
- 2
Pick a preset and set the weights
Weight each criterion from 0 (ignore) to 5 (critical). A move from an old, customized SYSPRO 7 or early SYSPRO 8 site should weight product depth and on-prem experience higher than a new Syspro Cloud ERP implementation would.
- 3
Interview with the question bank
Ask functional questions to the consultant who will run your design workshops, technical questions to the developer who will build your e.net, DFM and Application Designer work, and project-lead questions to the named project manager, not the sales lead.
- 4
Score each candidate 1 to 5
Score against the evidence notes for each criterion and tick any red flags you heard. The weighted ranking and chart update instantly.
- 5
Export or save
Download the scorecard as PDF, Excel, Word or CSV for your selection committee, or save it to your Netray account to continue later.
Questions
What should a SYSPRO ERP implementation partner be able to show me?
A named team with SYSPRO 8 experience by release and role, a plan with design sign-off, a prototype, test cycles and cutover rehearsals, sample deliverables from a past SYSPRO project such as a customization register and cutover checklist, and recent references on a similar deployment model. They should also explain how they handle custom applications, rules, DFM contracts and reports through release updates.
Does SYSPRO implement directly or through partners?
Both routes exist. SYSPRO describes its own implementation and consulting services built on the IDEAL methodology, and runs the Syspro Partner Pro program with a public Partner Directory. Score SYSPRO direct teams and partners on the same criteria and ask each for named consultants.
How often does SYSPRO release updates?
SYSPRO 8 ships named releases. The help site lists 2018 R1 through 2021 R2 as twice-yearly releases, single releases for 2022 to 2025, and 2026 R1 and R2. Updates run through the SYSPRO Installer Application, and SYSPRO documents that some releases need a new license. Ask candidates which releases they have delivered and how they test each update.
What can a partner customize in Syspro Cloud ERP compared with on-premise?
Syspro Cloud ERP runs on Microsoft Azure and direct SQL access is restricted, so SYSPRO documents the OData service as the route for reading data there. Writes go through e.net business objects. On-premise sites often have SQL views, reports and scripts that read the database directly, and a partner moving you to the cloud should inventory each one and map it to a supported approach.
How is SYSPRO licensed, and what does SYSPRO ERP cost?
SYSPRO describes on-premise as licensed by the client with upfront license fees and annual maintenance, and Syspro Cloud ERP as licensed monthly. Cloud offerings are grouped into core solutions (a mandatory Foundation plus Financials and Manufacturing or Distribution) and add-ons. SYSPRO does not publish list prices, so user counts, modules and prices must come from a SYSPRO quote. Keep partner services separate from software costs in your comparison.
Which SYSPRO certifications should consultants have?
SYSPRO states that Partner Pro onboarding includes certification paths and validation through Syspro LearnIt Online, but it does not publish a public list of certification titles. Ask for each named consultant's certification name and date and verify it with SYSPRO. Certification shows product training; references and interviews show delivery skill.
Should I hire a partner firm or an independent SYSPRO consultant?
A firm can staff functional, technical and system administration roles and absorb turnover. An independent consultant can be senior and cost less per hour but is a single point of failure. Score both on the same criteria. Most SYSPRO implementations need functional, technical and project-lead coverage.
Is my data stored anywhere?
The scorecard runs in your browser. It is only stored if you choose to save it to your Netray account, and only sent to us if you ask an engineer to review it.
